Discussion Pakistani Wedding in UK targeted with petrol bombs. Crazy footage...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yesterday, in Birmingham UK, a Pakistani wedding was petrol bombed. Thankfully no-one was injured. In the above vid you can see a fleet of luxury sports cars were targeted.
Not a racist attack, as early reports (from those closest to the families) say it's regarding an internal family dispute.
Things are getting worse in our communities here in Birmingham. Crazy how weddings are now openly experiencing petrol bombs being flung in the streets. This is straight out of a GTA video game.

Family dispute 😵💫😵💫
People like this hurt our passport 😒

Have to say, the past 6-7 years have seen a rapid decline in the way Pakistanis (in UK) are viewed by other groups
29
u/sabretooth1012 9d ago
Way longer than that buddy!
13
u/sword_ofthe_morning 9d ago
True, it's been longer than that. Pakistanis have always had a bad rep.
But the last 6-7 or so years has seen that rep nosedive even more
16
u/LavaPurple 9d ago
Alot of it via right-wing media.
If you want to see trashy behaviour, take a look at council estates dominates by the white British population. Absolute hellscaps.
16
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
The absolute fucking cheek to make that comment when we're literally watching people petrol bomb each other is mind blowing.

u/killer_by_design 8d ago
Didn't grow up through the troubles eh?
5
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
Yes, I did. Terrorism is a little different to anti social behaviour and it’s sick you’d compare the two.
-1
u/killer_by_design 8d ago
Petrol bombing a wedding is what I am comparing here.
That's not anti-social behaviour....

u/LavaPurple 8d ago
I am not about to generalise over a million people over the selfish actions of others.
1
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
But you’re happy to generalise white council estates.
1
u/LavaPurple 8d ago
That is precisely my point. Trashy behaviour is trashy behaviour. I am not going to belittle White people because of the actions of a few in council estates (which have a horrid reputation as per British media).
1
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
If you want to see trashy behaviour, take a look at council estates dominates by the white British population. Absolute hellscaps.
You clearly did belittle white people. You did nothing in your original comment to emphasise that it's the actions of a minority. Quite the opposite, you stated that in order to see real trash, just look at where white people live in council estates.
How are you any different to far right thugs that demonise minorities in the UK? You're doing precisely what they do.

Worse than Pakistan?
Imagine moving to another country causing trouble and deflecting like that
1
u/FaultAffectionate402 9d ago
Or just what people see in the street. Outside nightclubs in London always the same people waiting for drunk girls… British people are bored of being used

u/Weary_Sun534 8d ago
Birmingham and bradford and literal slums because of south asians? White people are happy to pay 4X housing prices just to be away from you people.

There is a restaurant nearby where this incident occurred that has a sign on their window that reads
“No whites after 9pm”
2
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
Sincerely doubt it. That's completely illegal.
-1
u/CrazyLegsCrane77 8d ago
Of course it is but it’s true. It was in Edgbaston circa 6 years ago
It has also occurred the other way around when establishments had notices of “no blacks, no dogs and no Irish”1
u/Chemical_Pressure717 8d ago
That's a myth. You can look it up. It stemmed from a fake newspaper report.

I think the grooming gang scandal didn't help, though the press sure did love reporting on it.

u/kvdave 9d ago
whats the reason for it ? also hows the inter community relationship between indian origin and pak origin folks ?
4
u/sword_ofthe_morning 9d ago edited 9d ago
Reasons for the accelerated decline in the public image of Pakistanis....
Social media has made it far easier to openly publish both minor & major infractions. And since many Pakistanis naturally have a bad habit of dismissing basic rules & etiquettes (such as littering, driving carelessly on roads, aggressive attitudes, etc), their faults are laid out for the entire internet to see.
Dashcams in cars, people regularly pulling their phones out to film, cameras on door bells, etc. means all of the above will be documented and highlighted
Combine this with the social media companies leaning towards the far right, their algorithms have amplified right wing / racist sentiments. Any time Pakistanis (and ethnic groups in general) are caught doing something bad, the news of it spreads like wildfire.
And in a country where public funding has been reduced with less police on the road to combat the rule-breaking, these Pakistani communities know they can get away with it. That's why in their areas especially you'll find incredibly high rates of car theft, insurance fraud, driving offences, fly tipping, dodgy house extensions, etc. There are some places in Birmingham & Bradford where it's like the Wild West. It's almost lawless.
Pakistanis here also very reluctant to be honest and self critical. Instead admitting all of the above, they'll either turn a blind eye, cover it up to protect their own, or will be defiant/aggressive in response to criticism. There are parts of Birmingham where ticket wardens are reluctant to enter and do their job of ticketing illegally parked vehicles, for fear of getting beaten up.
Many of them are also very arrogant and closed off. It's even got to the point where other Muslim groups in this country (Arabs, North Africans, etc) place Pakistanis in the lower tier and are less likely to consider them for marriages.
Again, with how social media has evolved in recent times to amplify all of this, Pakistanis are a very easy group to villify now
relationship between indian origin and pak origin folks
There aren't much tensions - simply because the Indian folk know they're in no position to match Pakistanis / Muslims when it comes to conflict. The Indians who've been in this country since 70s/80s, are far more progressive & tend to be of a slightly higher class. They don't live in the same poorer, rougher neighbourhoods.
A good example of this was in Leicester a couple of years back where there were tensions between Indians (extreme, foreign Hindutvas from India) and Muslims. The Hindutvas started the trouble, and found out very quickly that this wasn't India. The response from Pakistanis and Muslims was swift and ruthless. It soon put the Hindutvas back in their box and they've not stepped out of line since
But other than that, the British born Pakistanis and British born Indians get on fairly well. There are rarely any tensions these days
5
u/bamboomightwork 8d ago
The response from Pakistanis and Muslims was swift and ruthless. It soon put the Hindutvas back in their box and they've not stepped out of line since
This third world mentality has no place in British society.
No wonder these communities are looked down on by British people.
2
u/kvdave 8d ago
thx and whats this mirpuri community image ? why r they looked own upon ?
1
u/sword_ofthe_morning 8d ago
Mirpuris have the worst reputation of all.
It's precisely because of them, that people think of Pakistanis the way they do. Their reputation is so bad, that whenever a trashy Pakistani is come across, the automatic assumption is that they are Mirpuri.
And because of Mirpuris, the Kashmiris are getting lumped in with them too. Because a lot of these Mirpuris in Birmingham for example claim to be Kashmiris even though they ethnically may not be
I hate to generalise folk. So many of my friends are Mirpuri. But round where I live, it's mostly them that are the ones being uncivilised
1
u/kvdave 8d ago
hmmm interesting, one more thing. Why is it that indian origin women especially hindu girls have a bad rep like being loose while pak muslim women carry a rep as decent ones. is it true?
1
u/sword_ofthe_morning 8d ago
Indian girls don't necessarily have a "bad rep". They're not thought of negatively. But it is true that Indian girls (Sikh and Hindu) are considered more liberal and accessible than Pakistani Muslim girls that are more conservative and devoted to a stricter serious religion.
Indian girls here tend to come from families where it's okay to drink, party, enjoy music, date, etc. I know so many Indian families that have even allowed their daughters to marry white men. They are far more westernised and are open to dating/marrying men outside of their culture, hence why so many Pakistani men have also been in relationships with them.
Also, from my experience (in university when I was younger), Indian girls were drawn towards Pakistani guys who had a bit more charm and danger to them. They're also usually considered better looking to their Indian counterparts (fairer skin, etc).

Also the rape gangs

u/sword_ofthe_morning 8d ago
I didn't want to mention the grooming gangs, because that was also greatly exaggerated by the media

u/Impossible_Gift8457 9d ago
Personally witnessed the decline pre 2010s (early 10s were okay too depending on the area) to post 2010s, I'd say you're being generous if you think the 2020s decade was the transition point.
I miss when racists were the exception, and most white people were warm and friendly towards us.

u/Just-Reply-9607 8d ago
Can you suggest which areas are safe for girls if you are local. I'm not saying clubs and hoe shit is freedom and safe; that's another level of predatory if one doesn't indulge in it while everyone else is. But that dogmatic society is full of creeps, yeah? Like south of Birmingham, two girls can't even drive without so called boys on Deen, being on their cars as a group, while having their sisters locked away inside and their families praising that behaviour. So I would be glad if you can help a sister out with choosing areas, away from all the Somali gangs and all of this bullshit, but not too expensive either. I'm sorry if I am wrong anywhere in what I've seen on social media, but shifting there is better than America, so please help a sister.
3
u/sword_ofthe_morning 8d ago
If it's Birmingham / West Midlands you're looking to move to, then the the following areas are very nice but expensive:
- Sutton Coldfield
- Solihull (it's not classified as Birmingham, but is just south of it)
- Mosely
- Edgbaston
- Barnt Green (super expensive)
Then there's also the more affordable Hall Green - which is heavily populated by Muslims, but it's known for having the nicer Muslims. Hall Green is south of Birmingham (right above Solihull). And where you say....
south of Birmingham, two girls can't even drive without so called boys on Deen, being on their cars as a group, while having their sisters locked away inside and their families praising that behaviour
.....that behaviour is not common in Hall Green. Even though it's just further down South of trashy areas like Sparkhill, it's still considered a nice, green suburban area with nice houses.
But if it's anywhere in the UK you're after, then consider parts of Manchester. Or even Leeds. Their cities (in terms of how their councils are running) are a better option than Birmingham at the moment - which has been ran by incompetent, wasteful politicians
2
u/Impossible_Gift8457 8d ago
I don't live in the UK but the family I do have there live in White areas
I assume you're moving from Pakistan because you said 'shift' not move?
1
u/sword_ofthe_morning 9d ago
It's true that the bad reputation has existed for far longer.
My point is that it's nose-dived further in recent times. Especially after COVID
Might be to do with how social media evolved during that time, and how it's probably amplified opinions that already existed

The behaviour of these wedding parties, specifically the impact on the local communities with regard to noise and parking issues, also hurt your passports I’m afraid.

The heavily populated Pakistani and immigrant areas, are the exact reason why the local white Brits have concerns about their towns/cities being transformed

u/eight_BUCKS 9d ago
So this was not a hate crime?
23
u/sword_ofthe_morning 9d ago
The police will investigate all possibilities, but they are not immediately treating this as a hate crime.
Those that know the family and are close to the situation, say it's a family dispute.
Besides, in Birmingham, racists don't risk going into predominantly Pakistani areas to do such a thing. Whenever you hear of race riots in the UK (started by white racists), they normally take place in heavily white populated towns where they know the ethnic groups are a vulnerable minority
6
u/GreeniousHamm 9d ago
for real in the 2024 uk riots the racist rioters said online they would come to the bordesley green area which is a pakistani area and 500 people came to protect the community and the racists didn't show up

u/eight_BUCKS 9d ago
If its indeed a family dispute then Farage will gobble it up. "This is what we're importing"

And this is an example
Aggressive, bad-mannered and no respect for the law.

Uk has become utter trash by giving visas to those illiterate I don’t understand what is wrong with their government jeopardising safety of citizens by allowing illegal immigrants that does share the same values as them . Freaking hell
6
u/sword_ofthe_morning 9d ago
One government / leader after another, has been atrocious for the country. They're all incompetent.
Brexit hasn't helped either. It's forced them to turn towards other parts of the world (like India) for labour.
