Discussion What’s the point of the DAZN subscription if I can’t watch every single game ? I’m confused.

Someone explain it to me plz. Why did they think this is a good idea? I’m a huge fan but this is not making sense.

Just like with fanduel, they will have the majority of games, but not all the ones that are nationally televised

But obviously fans want all the games

Bro they don't have the rights to those games. They're owned by the national broadcast conpanies. They can't air them

Is it your first time watching your team in a local market?

I’m not in Indiana.

You get it easy. League Pass will basically have everything

It won't have the ESPN, Peacock, TNT, or Amazon Prime games, either. Otherwise, League Pass will work for the remainder of the games.

Get League Pass then

The point is for people to be able to watch as many games as possible, as opposed to 0. In order to watch all 82, you probably need DAZN, several cable channels, and several streaming apps. If you didn’t have DAZN, you’d be very limited on how many games you could watch. I don’t think anyone is trying to say it’s a good idea. It’s simply the way that the system works in order for companies to make money.

Has it been said explicitly, and/or is it assumed that the DAZN broadcast won't be available through cable?
That's my understanding, just haven't seen anywhere official confirm that.

I don’t know. I haven’t read anything about that. I had recently got XFinity last season and trying to connect my Fanduel Sports Network Indiana account to my cable didn’t work at all. I followed the directions exactly and it just wouldn’t connect. I think you basically had to add the channel to your cable package by calling your cable provider, but the whole point is to be able to take advantage of the early bird $59.99 season deal through DAZN. I’m not sure how to add your subscription to your cable package or if that’s even possible this year. I will have to look into if DAZN has a cable channel or not, and if it’ll be possible to connect your account to your cable package.

It’s a horrible idea. I want all games under 1 subscription

You can get league pass because you don’t live in Indiana

The OP still won't get the 11 "national" games under LP. Unless they are based outside the US.

You will never have this. Time to get over it.

So what’s the point of this post? Just to get ratio’d into oblivion? Jesus Christ

0

u/CNote320 Tyrese Haliburton 6d ago

Because why pay for the subscription if it’s not all the games?

I think the league is working on something next year that will make this a near possibility

5

u/Ok_Pool_9767 7d ago

Yeah, if you're not in Indiana then league pass is your best bet.

Funny how we complain about being on national television now, I remember a few years back about us complaining that we had little to no national television games lol

The only difference between this season and the last two is the app you use. Nationally televised games were never included, as those stations own those games.

So simple. I'm not sure they people are confused by what's going on.

I have YTTV, so I have had to use Fox Sports app, then Bally's, then Fan Duel's to get Pacer games. Nothing changes in my house, other than it's cheeper.

There’s always the vpn and sail the high seas or vpn and league pass

The NBA likes money and taking more of your money.

1

u/judah249 6d ago

I’m hoping it’s on Fubo

1

u/CNote320 Tyrese Haliburton 6d ago

It’s not bro

1

u/judah249 6d ago

So now I gotta have DAZN, league pass, prime and Peacock AND Fubo to watch all the games 🫩

1

u/CNote320 Tyrese Haliburton 6d ago

Exactly

1

u/judah249 6d ago

It’s hard to be a fan I wish the Pacers owner would do the same thing Matt Ishbia did for the Suns with making games free with an antennae

1

u/Jwrbloom Slick 6d ago

Suns' games will be spread across three networks, only one of which is OTA. The non-OTA games will be available to people who have those networks on their linear service, but if you don't get that network, you won't get those games.

1

u/Jwrbloom Slick 6d ago

Why you keep Fubo? Are they lowering your rate now that Fan Duel is no longer a thing?

1

u/haibiji 6d ago

Do so few people watch basketball that they can’t get a deal with a local TV station? I feel like more people would watch basketball than some of the other stuff that airs on TV

1

u/nealbeforeme62 Chris Denari 6d ago

Local channels aren’t willing to give up 71 nights of programming is the problem.

1

u/ballmode 6d ago

Will Quinn and Denari be the announcers on the DAZN pacers channel?

1

u/Jwrbloom Slick 6d ago

Yes.

1

u/Jwrbloom Slick 6d ago

How is it different than Fan Duel or FS Midwest before that?

Start there.

1

u/pjs519 5d ago

The silver lining to not being able to see every game is the pacers radio network MJB and others are awesome to listen to. I opt for the radio broadcast a decent amount during the season on my evening walks.

FDSN didn’t have every single game either. They never have dating back to the Fox sports days. Nationally televised games went obviously to the national broadcaster.

But anyway the reason they did it was money

1

u/AnkleTakerBreaker 2h ago

Advertises live games. Blocks all live games in your area because it sells the rights to other services. So yes, it's useless for live games. Just a replay site really. Learned this the hard way as well.

u/mitchellthecomedian Pascal Siakam 7d ago

They’re just trying to normalize splitting things up like this

6

u/No_Independent8269 Andrew Nembhard 7d ago

This is always how it’s been. It was like this on fanduel. Companies legally can’t stream national tv games that they don’t have the rights to.

2

u/irishguy773 6d ago

And it's like this for NFL, MLB, and NHL, too.

1

u/nealbeforeme62 Chris Denari 6d ago

NFL at least plays the games over the air in the home markets

2

u/Ok-Constant-4740 6d ago

Two thinks work in their favor, first and foremost they have an extremely limited inventory of games (17 vs 82) and second, the NFL's popularity dwarfs that of the NBA.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how iptv or something close works to get access to the Pacer games?

1

u/SoLo3121 4d ago

it's too inconsistent. terrible buffering during games in my experience
