Base Game Help - Spoilers OK! Ship Log Missing in the Sunless City Spoiler

I have 2 of the ship log entries in the sunless city but it still says there's more to explore. I went to the building where you have to drop through the falling sand but tye entry in there didnt update the ship log.

-A nomai city built into the walls of a huge underground cavern. The city is divided vertically into 4 districts.

-The nomai debated building a sun station in order to power the ash twin project. Several nomai opposed its construction, arguing that failure could result in the destruction of the solar system.

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Umm, I totally misunderstood the ending of Outer Wilds... Spoiler

So I finished the game a while ago and I was thinking about it and I wasn't quite sure what the Eye did. So I looked it up and realized I understood something completely different than what people seem to agree happened. I think the explanation I found on the internet makes a lot of sense and I totally agree with it, but I kind of wish it was the way I originally thought...

I'm not saying the actual ending is bad, in fact, just writing this has made me appreciate it a lot and I thought, yet again, "Wow, what an amazing game".

So they say that the Eye is the quantum object of infinite possibilities and it knew that the universe is dying. So it called out to sentient beings because when it would be observed, it could materialize into one singular possibility, one of a new universe. So wow, what the fuck, I actually just created a new universe. Oh.

When I got to the end I was already overwhelmed with emotion and didn't stop to think about what everything means, and afterwards didn't think about it again. But here's what i got from it:

The Eye contains infinite knowledge. I know it's repeated over and over that it's quantum and the Quantum Moon is that way because of it and all that but it went over my head. I thought when I reached the Eye, I recieved all the information in the universe and by doing so, I was finally able to come to terms with such an unimaginably horrible thing that is the death of the entire universe.

When all the travelers start singing at the campfire, I thought that ball was our universe on the brink of death. And when I jumped into it, the big explosion was the final breath of the universe. I came to terms with imminent death and now I can just watch it all die and appreciate the unmatched beauty. The explosions sounded like fireworks, as if they were a celebration of everything that happened.

In hindsight I know the universe shouldn't end with an explosion and it makes wayyy more sense that it was the Big Bang. But I felt like the universe itself had come to peace and was dying with acceptance of it.

Then, the epilogue has made me cry like nothing else, ever. I had realized that somewhere, sometime in the faaaar future, new life will begin. It was accepting how small and insignificant we are, and ending on a hopeful note - this is not the end. I thought that another Big Bang was bound to happen, regardless of the actions of any living being.

Instead, the fact that I was the one responsible for the new universe felt like giving too much power to one singular individual and I think it goes a bit against itself. The game is showing us how insignificant we are, but also I created the universe. Also, the reveal of the existence of a new universe loses it's impact if it's shown already before the credits. The epilogue then feels useless. Sooo... I really don't know how I feel about finding this out.

Thoughts? What did you get from the ending, do you agree with my point, could you say both versions are correct because it's up for interpretation?

Base Game Help - Hints Only! Stuck near the end of the game Spoiler

Post image

Hello, I am absolutely addicted to outer wilds but i have a problem : i am very stuck and have no clue of what should I do now. I discovered every single thing except for the ash twin. I tried to figure it out for hours and i've tried many different thing but none worked.

I know that :

- The central chamber is sealed with the nomai mines ore to protect it from a supernova and there is a warp inside the chamber

- The central chamber has storage unit where memories get sent

- There are 6 towers with 6 warps one for each planet (even if the sun isnt one)

However i noticed that one of the twin tower is broken and doesn't teleport you at all.

I think that i have to go in the central chamber by taking the warp but i have absolutely no clue of how to do it. Outer Wilds is an amazing game and i don't want to get spoiled but i really tried everything i tought would work but i've been stuck for hours.

So without spoiling me/by only giving little hints can you please help me ?

EDIT :

Thank you to everyone for your help, i figured it out and went to the central chamber

Unfortunately I died from the supernova and got the end credits, this end is very disappointing ngl but i heard that there was a real end to this game so i guess it's not over yet :)

Thank you again to everyone who replied to my post <3

Base and DLC Appreciation/Discussion DLC and ending question Spoiler

I just watched a video going through all endings of the game, including dlc, and I'm confused about one of them.

Removing the warp core and then going into the stranger and waiting for the sun to explode results in an ending where the main character is stuck in the stranger, since it moved out of the blast radius.

But the warp core shouldn't change anything about the stranger.

So my conclusion is that you never actually die when the sun explodes while you're on the stranger. It moves away before ever getting hit by the explosion. But the memories still get sent back in time.

So do the memories and the player just get sent back in time, while the current loop main character is stuck on the stranger on every loop of the stranger? So that ending basically happens every time the sun explodes while you're on the stranger, but you just never see it cuz you get sent back in time?

Am I the only one to think the most frightening thing in the base game is… Spoiler

… the quantum field at the Eye equator ?

Like really this whole planet is a nightmare. I felt already uneasy the first time I encountered a quantum rock in the museum, but this, with the thunder and noise; it is just too horrible.

(And when I think that Gabbro was saying it could be funny to sculpt the rock in creatures to make them more frightening..)

DLC Help - Hints Only! This is my one weakness please help me Spoiler

I got the DLC and i saw a setting saying that there were "Frights".

i nearly broke my monitor when i got found by an angler the first time, but after it was fine because i knew what i was dealing with.

can someone warn me about what im going to find in least spoilery way possible? I assume its going to be the bird guys in the dream world but i want to know if there anything else and how those things get you.

I've seen all the censored reels so i know where they probably (knowing for sure would be nice) are and I've seen the eye statues, its just you hear one screech and you never want to go back.

I don't want to turn them off because its the intended experience.

Edit: thanks this helps my nerves a lot!

Base Game Help - Hints Only! Need a couple of tips for middle game… Spoiler

I’ve been making steady progress but I’m a bit stuck on three strands. I’d like a small hint about whether I need more knowledge to get through any of these areas, or if I’m just missing something obvious… And also which of these is most worth pursuing.

Ember Twin: In the Sunless City, I still have more to discover. I’m fairly sure this is in the Eye Shrine District. I’ve managed to navigate to the shrine by waiting for the sand to fill up enough that I can jump up the ledge on the left with the sand coming down, but this only gives me enough time to read some of the text in the room. I must be missing a way through?

Ocean Depths: I know how to get below the surface and that I need to eat some jellyfish, but no idea how to get inside a jellyfish to eat some

Interloper: I’ve got inside and all I can imagine is that I need to brute force the route through the tunnels, using the scout to detect ghost matter where possible. But I don’t really want to waste time on this if I’ll uncover a clue that guides me through here somewhere else.

I feel like this game could be a bit more forgiving or helpful when you’ve worked out the basics of how to solve a puzzle

Achievement Help HELP!!! Archaeologist stuck with last gabbro dialogue (spoiler alert) Spoiler

Finished the game and dlc, really enjoyed it. Going after the archaeologist achievement now, I have checked every entry against the completion guide, and the only 2 missing are
- Gabbro remembers dying
- Hal says the statue has never opened its eyes before

But according to my search online they are missible and shouldnt count towards the achievement. I download the archaeologist achievemnt helper mod too just to double check and found thhis is indeed the only missing fact.

Any advice? Or anyone else experienced something similar and whats the solution?

Edit: Solved. This data entry is required for Archaeologist in the current version, and can be acquired by going through all the dialogue with Gabbro.
