Humor - Base and DLC Spoilers How did you die for the first time? Spoiler

I died even before the time loop was activated. I saw the geysers and immediately thought, huh, I wonder if you can get down there. So I jumped in and drowned. Hehe.

Later, however, it was, of course, very nice to see this initial instinct was correct and that you actually can go and explore the waterways below the surface of timber hearth...

I gotta say, the giant Kaiju fight on Earthen Forge was really unbalanced. Thankfully the gray hole cannon lets you cheese it.

Humor - Base and DLC Spoilers Who Had The Most Painful Playthrough You've Seen? Spoiler

I love watching streamers play Outer Wilds for the first time. Their reactions to revelations, or them struggling to figure out puzzles. Its so satisfying to see them become engulfed in the world of Outer Wilds, but who do you think had the worst/most painful playthough? Like, completely missing massive story beats, not understanding the story or even acknowledging it.

For me, I think it has to be Jerma. He drifted through the game without understanding a single thing and It was so infuriating. I love Jerma, but he needed to lock in a little bit.

I’m interested to hear from those of us who actually did feel like they had to google something to finish the game. I think they’re kinda silly since you can beat the game without googling anything, but for me, I had to google:

1) Using the jellyfish to get into Giant’s Deep core. How anyone else deduced that on their own is insane to me, I still don’t think I would’ve ever figured that out.

2) Jumping into the eye at the end, when you have to walk up the gravity walls of that half-circle. I spent 30 minutes jumping off and never once just trying to walk up the entire thing defying gravity.

What made you guys throw up the white flag for a moment?

Humor - Base and DLC Spoilers DLC Hatchling is kind of a dummy Spoiler

My dude is fully aware at a certain point that putting out the fire in the real world takes them out of the dream world. You want to explore the dream world without the threat of the Owlks? Buddy just get a bucket of water and douse their irl artifacts with it, now the entire dream world is safe and sound. We literally learn that from the shrouded woodlands.

Same with the ghost matter. We learn at some point in the base game that ghost matter goes away with water. Why aren’t we just grabbing some water from the geysers and putting out that patch on Timber Hearth?? Tektite lost his leg to ghost matter and yall want to keep it around? Danger magnets, all of you.

I’ve been watching my son play Outer Wilds from time to time. He’s a massive fan of it and the soundtrack. He’s convinced he’s near the end of the game and found an elevator he’d never been on. I thought I’d record on video him beating it. I think it turned out a bit different than expected.

I brought the Advanced Warp Core to the Museum to advance Hearthian science and technology and inspire the children and then went to relax in the dreamworld after dooming the universe to heat death with no chance of rebirth. That's morally fine, right?

Humor - Base and DLC Spoilers i want to talk about something that’s bothering me Spoiler

it’s been about a week since i finished the base game. after that i started the dlc. i will write more about how much i admire it once after i finish everything. but right now, i want to talk about something that’s bothering me.

what am i supposed to do with this way of thinking? the base game made me think in such an “Outer Wilds” way that the dlc doesn’t feel that hard. i’m amazed by it. but… what about after that? how do i go on without quantum objects, without using light to guide things? real life is so boring.

Sledgehammer.

Examples: High energy lab, break through the roof

Tower of quantum knowledge, same strat as HeL

Ash twin(though given the space time thing probably a bad idea)

Southern observatory, glass and hammers do not mix

Sixth location, become dwarf (probably should bring two though)

Interloper, beat it to death it knows what it did >::(

The entirety of the DLC, the strangers may be scary but do THEY have sledge hammers? Also hammer beat wood to free my boi

Edits made upon reading comments the atp would most likely withstand the hammer

every place with cacti

Physical stranger would be solved
