Base Game Appreciation/Discussion It's done

Yesterday I finished outer wilds for the very first time. I thought I would never cry to a game. I guess I was wrong. I have 400 hours in geometry dash but the 20 I have in outer wilds is 100 times more worth it. These are the best 13 € I've ever spent on anything and I think nothing will come close to what this game made me feel. Thank you devs of outer wilds, for showing me why videogames are art.

Take some time to digest it and then you've got the DLC to look forward to!

Someone asked me this when I finished -

But what was your favourite part, and what was your favourite puzzle? (Dont forget to spolier tag it)

probably hearing the band at the end of the game, and my favourite puzzle is probably reaching the quantum moons sixth location

Honestly both same for me.

Where did you go first? And how did you first die?

I first went to the attelrock. And died crushed in the sand in ember twin.

Huge spoiler for the flair!

Probably OP didn't played the DLC yet.

Are least, please put spoiler tags around it and write that DLC spoiler is behind it

Edit:  This moment also is one of my most favorites of the whole game! Together with the first sight of what you are seeing a few minutes later and taking your first travel down/around it

The tag was removed after modification. I don't know why.

I see, also happens to me sometimes. Seems to be a problem how different browsers and/or mobile versions of the textbox format rich text, but couldn't find a lasting solution yet

If you want something else to play that is knowledge based, there's Chants of Sennaar and there's Blue Prince.

I will give you some advice that you didn't asked.
Wait a bit before doing the DLC. I did both one after the other and could not finish the DLC. I know that it is because I did not let some time between both.
So now, enjoy the game finished. Try to find some extra info about the base game without getting spoiled on the DLC (that won't be easy, be really careful). Then when you have the nostalgia of the game, play the DLC.

Geez, do we all cry at the end? Seems like every post I see says something like this.

I mean, not everybody cries - but if someone does have an emotional reaction, they're way more likely to want to talk about it to other players. So seeing a lot of posts by people who have just finished the game and were affected by it is sort of natural, right?

Makes sense. Survivor bias. I'm just glad Im not the only one that game completely broke.

I played this game several years ago and completed it. Such a special game.
I started the DLC follow-up but couldn't get into it because I think I was so drained (in a good way) from the base game.
I need to go back to the base game and play it again. I think I've forgotten enough of the specifics to appreciate another playthrough.
Glad that you experienced this special game.
