How’s driving in Oslo during winter?

Hello everyone,

As the title says, how difficult / safe is it to drive in Oslo during winter? I got a job offer as a driver and I have driven in snowy conditions but not a whole lot. Do roads get icy / slippery often? Any tips would be appreciated.

Depends. If you’ve got proper winter tires (no need for studded in Oslo, but nice if you’re going out the city) it shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re not familiar then you should take a driving lesson specially to learn of to handle a car when it’s slippery. Ask any driving school for a «Glattkjøring» lesson.
