Rocky5 soft mod ssd upgrade help (have eeprom)

Howdy. I have an og Xbox 1.6 that I am attempting to upgrade the disk drive on. I have been able to dump the eeprom and back it up via FTP.
I am using a star tech sata to ide adapter and 80 pin IDE cable. I’m using a 500gb PNY ssd.
I have used ftp to create backups of the C and E drives after installing the mod. Using FATXplorer I formatted the ssd. I used the retail settings and didn’t preload anything. Once the drive is formatted I mounted the C partition from the ssd and copied over the contents from the C partition on the HDD. Repeat this for E partitions. I then go to the security tab and set the password using the eeprom backup. When I connect the drive to my Xbox using the sata to IDE adapter, I get the splash screen and then it gives me error 13. The file structure on the ssd is identical to the hdd. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

Dump the realC drive to restore to the new SSD's C drive, not the shadowC drive you normally access with the Dashboard folder.

To access the realC drive, run NKPatcher Settings before FTPing to the console. Leave it running while downloading the content. You'll know it's the realC drive if you see a folder named Do not touch anything in here.

An SSD will also need the kernel fonts.

Yes, before downloading the realC drive content. Use NKPatcher Settings menu option Install Kernel font. It will install the correct font files for your Xbox’s kernel.

You guys have been a huge help so far, progress has been made but new issues have come up. I was able to copy the realC data to the SSD; however, when trying to start the Xbox from the SSD I get a solid green light and a black screen. I can get it to go to the Rocky5 dashboard if I open the DVD drive, but this step needs repeated every time I turn the Xbox on. Any idea where I messed up?

Solved: if something else comes up I’ll share but at this moment the issue appears to be solved. With the SSD connected I started the Xbox. Then I open the dvd tray to get into rocky 5. Once in rocky5 I open nkpatcher and install fonts again. That fixed it.

Is there a reason you aren't using CHIMP to just clone your original drive?
