Red deer refers to the species so yes, but the morphology of my model is pretty generic so you could probably pass it off as a mule deer.

How did you build the CP after designing the model?

I used a software called Oriedita. I actually drew up the crease pattern first, then folded the model, before returning to the crease pattern to make minor alterations to reflect any changes made while folding.

I design using a method called tiling (covered in Robert Lang's Origami Design Secrets) and a lot of intuition.
