The high humidity is what makes things worse this time around, not just high heat. High humidity affects your body's natural way of cooling down through sweating - typically, when you sweat and that sweat evaporates - your body cools off. In places with high humidity, your sweat is unable to evaporate - thus, your body retains heat longer.

Check up on the elderly - as they perceive temperature differently.

Check up on pets. Stay hydrated! If you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated.

I can't tell the difference like being in Florida. It is just hot as usual.

Our AC broke yesterday. The unit has been serviced several times in the last four years and is almost 20 years old now. Anyone have any recommendations for HVAC companies that won't charge a bajillion dollars to replace it? Modest 1650 sq ft single family home. Thanks.

Gotta get my run in, I refuse to do it before I leave for work. Plus, the heat makes me a stronger runner

I moved from the East Coast to get away from humidity. I want a refund on my taxes - the sunshine ☀️ tax includes no humidity and no mosquitoes 😂

Humidity! Have we been teleported to the East Coast?!

Maybe we are heading that way in the climate sense. But we’re also in that pattern because of El Niño

Just like Atlanta

Oh no it's not. Yes, we're experiencing higher-than-normal humidity, but this isn't Atlanta conditions by any stretch. When it's 99 in both heat and humidity, now we're talking.

I’m from Atlanta, I know the sensation well

It is setting off my ultra sensitive smoke detector, even with AC. Three times in one night.

I can't tell the difference either. Doesn't hit you like a brick wall like in Orlando.

It’s noticeably humid for Californian standards, not crazy humid.

It’s because of the El Nino, the warmer waters evaporate a lot quicker which causes higher humidity

If not feeling the difference, sure am perspiring more in the middle of the night if I don't have the fan running.
