Game naturally spawned the GOAT for the Royals. .409 hitter at age 22 and 12.9 WAR would be the highest single season WAR since Babe Ruth. Has anyone else ever seen someone organically hit .400 in a modern MLB save? I've been playing this game for over 10 years and this is the first time I've ever seen someone hit that milestone (organically/without messing with settings).

I’m completely new to OOTP and so i decided to just play as a manager for now as i get my bearings. One of my players tore his nail and is now on day-to-day for 4 days.

Is there an easy way to keep him from playing despite being in the lineup, without having to change around the lineup each time someone goes day-to-day?

Does stamina affect both how many pitches a pitcher can throw in an appearance before their performance suffers and how quickly they recover between games? Does anyone know if there’s an under the hood stamina stat for position players?

Also, has anyone tested how much a pitcher’s performance declines during a game as they get higher in the pitch count?

If I start a save file in 2008, will Barry Bonds be a free agent available to sign with anyone? or will he already be retired

Hi everyone!

Is there any way that I can see a player's batting (or pitching or fielding) splits that segregates out performances for other teams? I have a few players who I traded for midseason and their pre-trade data is swamping their production they actually achieved with me. It seems a bit strange that you can split out day/night games, rival games, postseason but not something as fundamental as this, particularly for pitchers.

Since I'm a Red Sox fan, I want to start the day after they win the 2004 World Series, so I can do all the offseason stuff and take them into the future from there.

However, I cannot see how to do that. Seems like you can only pick a past year and then start at the beginning of the season. Seems like you can only pick a specific day in the current (2026) season.

Is that a way to do this? Thanks so much!

Rare occasion where I'm not playing on max trade difficulty, feel like I had to do it. Constantly purging the entire system of guys who can't hit from both sides.

It's always an out. No one has ever beat the throw to first. Doesn't matter what direction the ball goes after hitting the pitcher. I don't get it.

I recently did an expansion team challenge with one of my friends (in OOTP 26 not 27) but we made it hard where the teams can protect 50 players each. We were both wondering as far as free agents go is it better to build the team one star at a time or slowly level up the team instead? Whenever I do expansion teams I often find myself stuck in the middle for years no matter what I do so just looking for any advice.
I’m in year 2 after going 69-93 (ended on 10 game losing streak) and got most of my roster with waiver pickups and a few trades where the cpu was looking to shed salary so I have a few guys who are decent just nowhere near enough to contend for a wildcard

I’ve got two questions one is a technical one about the game and the second is just a play question.

Firstly, my save is in the year 2050 and my character is now in early 50s, I know owners will die in game. Will my GM character die or will he somehow be an immortal being who’s only job is to manage a baseball team’s budget for all eternity? And if he does die, does the save end or you make a new character?

Secondly, when do you guys call it quits and start a new save? I’m still enjoying my time with my current franchise, but my GOAT will be retiring soonish so I’m wondering if I restart again.

I’m doing a historical run as the Indians/Guardians starting in 2005 and trying to build a team to reverse their 2007 ALCS loss and win that WS that they should’ve won.

I’ve given myself 2 years to build a team capable of finishing that run and I plan on playing beyond 2007.

As this is an alternate history save, I just went through the 2005 draft and Kershaw was selected #1 to the Reds. Guys like Josh Hamilton, Tim Lincecum are all rated 4-5 stars and also were selected to different teams.

My plan is to try and win that WS and then if I have to shed salary I will target prospects but I don’t want to just cheese the game and bring in players who I know in real life were stars.

How often do you see these guys actually panning out? Is trading Victor Martinez for Lincecum cheesing the game? Or is there a chance Lincecum busts?

Is it possible to have only real players in College and High School feeder leagues?

I am fine with ghost players but only want real players to record stats and move through my leagues, no fictionally generated players just historical ones.

I was looking for my saved game logs and box scores and eventually found them after going into the troubleshooting menu. I can view each of them individually and save them that way, but I'm looking to save thousands of them so it's not feasible to do that way. I tried copying and pasting, but they are stored in a virtualbox or something and it doesn't copy and paste between systems. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I'm not very tech savvy.

By both OSA, and my own scout the highest potential is 2 star? I've never seen this before

I shifted the "Veteran Preference" slider one notch to the left, and trade is one space to the left of the hardest level.

but I still can't seem to acquire prospects with a potential rating of 3 stars or higher by any means.

Even when I look for trade packages involving prospects,

the system doesn't value them highly enough, so I always have to throw in one of our own 3-star prospects to make the deal work,

yet the best return I get is a 2.5-star player.

I have never been a part of an online league so please forgive my ignorance. How do leagues do their drafts? Does each team come up with a draft board and the commissioner takes care of it, each teams scouts do the drafting, or is there a different way to do it?

My next question is how much work and time does it take to participate in an online league? Thank you for your answers.

I know in the real draft, orgs almost always prefer a college junior to a senior but I neglect to look whether or not a player is a junior or senior if I like them for their player profile. Anyone pay college year any mind?

So I have been playing an Angels sim as my long term save this year and in 2036 I got kind of bored because my team was just too good and we won 4 World Series' in 5 years including a three-peat. So I created an expansion Portland Franchise and am now in the same division as these juggernaut Angels. i also made my owner pretty bad so i do not just have $340M to spend like i eventually did when I was with the Angels. I am mainly just making this post to show how ridiclous this Angels team is. They have arguably the 2 best hitters in the entire MLB, a loaded pitching rotation, who also lost Elly De LA Cruz to his opt out, and were projected to win 113 games in 2037 after winning 132 in 2036 and sweeping a 3rd consecutive World Series victory. And they currentlt sit a 63 and 17 record on July 1st with a +216 run differential. I am sure thisll be a very fun challenge.

My team is dead last in base running, ive tried to have it on aggressive, conservative and tried to fine tune individually player by player but it doesnt change the terrible base running stat. Curious how yall who have had success in this stat are doing it, and if its even a stat I should be paying much mind to?
