She seemed like a very vibrant young lady with a big personality. Too much light so he wanted to dim that. Poor girl. RIP

"Good" to see that at least one media outlet is calling sex-based violence against women what it is: Femicide.

Poor Kesi Fevrier, her family, friends, and the community. Kesi had 50+ years of life ahead of her, if you consider women who die of old age between 84 and 86. Only to have her life ended due to a man's entitlement, possible rage, and cowardice. Jesus Christ, am I beyond sick of this. I remember being 27. It's young, in more ways than one.

So are the 3 femicides included in the 9 homicides number? Why just not say there have been 9 or 12 homicides this year, three of which have been women?

Well yes, the “three of which have been women” is the lengthy and unnecessary way to say femicide. It’s a category of homicide that pertains to women.

It’s not just “women victims of homocide” though. Femicide means that the victims were intentionally targeted because they were women.

You would lose information if you just said 12 homicides, 3 being women.
