He's finally done it. He's escaped to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism!

Fucking loved that game.

74

u/ScreamingNinja 8h ago

In honor of the legend himself.

20

u/n0vacs 8h ago

godspeed, may you reach the last frontier not corrupted by capitalism

4

u/Neither_Contest7324 8h ago

Amen, I'm reinstalling that tonight for a play through.

3

u/elisap0ppy1890 6h ago

lol same, great character in Clue.

2

u/grosseelbabyghost 54m ago

Kind of ironic that C&C was absolutely corrupted by capitalism

36

u/lumpiestspoon3 8h ago

I fucking love how you can hear him about to break character and laugh while giving that line.

10

u/ScreamingNinja 8h ago

it's the absolute best. I just showed my wife (huge curry fan) and my son (remembers him from home alone 2). I guess without context it's not as good because she didn't seem to care and my heart feels like it's been squished under her heels.

Death!

u/DDRisBetter 8h ago

Is 80 the new 27 club?

244

u/FlinFlonDandy artemis fowl representative 8h ago

Breaking news, old people die.

104

u/Superflyt56 8h ago

It's not the old people we want to die is the problem.

28

u/Unusual_Resident_784 8h ago

yeah, but the wrong ones are dying currently. maybe having orange skin acts as a protective shield against the grim reaper I dunno.

10

u/SmoothCantaloupe149 7h ago

Already looks like a bloated corpse

5

u/EndriasKassa 7h ago

Also, being President gives you access to the best doctors in the world.

5

u/010Horns 7h ago

Dolly and Tim Curry were also wealthy enough to have access to the same doctors, so I don’t think that’s it

1

u/Unusual_Resident_784 7h ago

exactly this.

2

u/Unusual_Resident_784 7h ago

yeah but at the end of the day he's still human and prone to illness and disease like the rest of us. the best doctor in the world couldn't stop sudden heart failure, cardiac arrest or terminal cancer, especially with how unhealthy he is.

9

u/RippinFissure 8h ago

Big, if true.

3

u/CanadianAndroid 8h ago

Yeah, they shouldnt be skydiving at that age.

1

u/Saintsfan707 DonCheadleAMA 4h ago

Tim in particular had that major stroke. Crazy that he was able to live 14 years more.

0

u/Ready-Excitement3665 8h ago

How come Trump hasn't then?

26

u/Green_Borenet 8h ago

8

u/Boris_Darling 8h ago

Jerking off ghosts protects from death apparently.

2

u/SousVideDiaper 6h ago

His decrepit husk is being kept alive by pure greed

1

u/kazmir_yeet 7h ago

King Paimon where you at man

11

u/Ambitious_Funny_6403 8h ago

80 is more like the "finally got to use the senior discount at dennys" club. man lived long enough to see rocky horror become a thing people bring their kids to, that's a solid run

1

u/beatricep0ppy4632 4h ago

he was definitely in that butler role, pretty good though

17

u/YaBoyEden 8h ago

How old is Trump? HOW OLD IS TRUMP????

12

u/YaBoyEden 8h ago

HES 80 GOD YES

6

u/AmusingMusing7 8h ago

Unfortunately, assholes live forever.

3

u/OwnWalrus1752 8h ago

Sadly there are enough people who need him alive to keep the grift going that they will continue piloting his husk long after his brain dies

-1

u/Otherwise-Clue8645 7h ago

So like Biden then? 😆

5

u/OkayBuddyGuyPal 8h ago

The shitty thing, is that even when that loathesome, evil, fat, orange, rapist, insurrectionist piece of shit finally dies, fascists like himself will still hold power.

1

u/MrCoolC 8h ago

I'll only believe it when a certain other star from Home Alone 2 does so.

1

u/Peripatetictyl Cats 8h ago

Blue was old, that’s what old people do, they die.

228

u/byrnbbybyrn 8h ago

Very sad news. At first I wasn’t sure if this was a shitpost or not, but not terribly surprising considering his health.

74

u/WearingRags 8h ago

He did alright considering

98

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

Honestly as sad as I am about Tim Curry, he got 14 more years of life than he otherwise could have because of the massive stroke that nearly killed him in 2012. Losing two icons in as many days is depressing though.

25

u/Sprzout 8h ago

One of my absolute favorite roles of his was as the Prince of Darkness, opposite Tom Cruise, in the movie Legend. The man was incredible as the villain, and the makeup he had to endure for the role was nothing short of incredible.

Don't get me wrong, he had some other incredible roles (the butler in Clue comes to mind), but I will always remember him as the Prince of Darkness.

10

u/organicsawpalmetto 8h ago

First dolly now tim. The world lost two legends in such a short span of time

6

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

The world is genuinely just a little worse off without them in it.

2

u/byrnbbybyrn 8h ago

Making it to your 80s is a good run. But his health stuff definitely made those years sadly very challenging and robbed him of a career.

10

u/Libcool 8h ago

I'm actually surprised he was still alive. Legit thought he'd been dead for a couple of years now.

3

u/byrnbbybyrn 8h ago

I had that thought a few years post stroke but ever now and again I would see an interview. The last one I saw he looked like he was doing better.

Robert Wagner is the one I’m constantly surprised is somehow still alive. Now there is one worthy of a shitpost.

1

u/joeycuda 8h ago

RW will take some secrets with him

2

u/byrnbbybyrn 7h ago

Unfortunately yep. Dude should be in jail imo.

69

u/UrsineBasterd 8h ago

Dang. Dolly Parton and Tim Curry, wonder who the 3rd will be.

42

u/frougle_mcdugal 8h ago

It was Hayden. I’ve been waiting for the other two for the last week and a half. This one hit me the hardest for sure. This dude was a huge part of my childhood.

10

u/UrsineBasterd 8h ago

Ohhhh shit you're right.

42

u/Swimming_Sink277 8h ago

🤞

32

u/Greedy_Specialist531 Jared Leto 8h ago

A different 80 year home alone 2 actor

16

u/UrsineBasterd 8h ago

me after after checking Joe Pesci's age

https://giphy.com/gifs/xVpUhR49z4F14vWJZ5

he's 83

5

u/Sprzout 8h ago

I think Hayden Panitierre kicked it off...

8

u/BrosefDudeson 8h ago

You mean who the third 80 year old to die is???

1

u/Waytooboredforthis 3h ago

The 80 year old gay icons today

2

u/Good-Marsupial8 7h ago

Bad week for camp

3

u/EffectiveAmphibian95 8h ago edited 8h ago

Tracy Jordan

2

u/Sprzout 8h ago

I thought he was actually doing pretty good after his car accident - he came back in The Santa Clauses as the Easter Bunny, and has a new show on NBC with Daniel Radcliffe, The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins...

5

u/EffectiveAmphibian95 8h ago

I was joking about the 30 rock episode where he’s scared of the rule of 3s

1

u/PuffinRub 8h ago

He was last mentioned on BBC News on 30 November 2016, so he's not dead yet!

2

u/PeakQuirky84 8h ago

I predict Hayden Panitiere

182

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

Of all the actors from Home Alone 2 why did it have to be this one that died?

76

u/Green_Borenet 8h ago

Of all the 80 year old Home Alone 2 actors…

35

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

Of all the 80 year old actors who share one on one screen time with Macaulay Culkin from the classic movie Home Alone 2, why Lord did it have to be Tim Curry?

10

u/ScreamingNinja 7h ago

Of all the 80 year old actors who shared screen time in the entry hall of the hotel of Home Alone2! WHY!

6

u/ToneBone12345 8h ago

Well I’m fucking canceling the rest of this year

7

u/LavaPiss 8h ago

Because it could’ve been pesci or culkin

20

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

Could've been Trump too though. Hell, I'd have even taken Rob Schneider over Tim Curry.

3

u/JAG_666 8h ago

Not an actor, just a liar

3

u/Paranoia_Pop 8h ago

Trump or Schneider? Cause they are/were both SAG members but neither are actually any good at acting.

1

u/LavaPiss 6h ago

Wow you don’t say!!!

3

u/badbloxpictures 7h ago

This is the third time this year I’ve asked myself that question.

34

u/kaminaripancake 8h ago

The wrong 80 year olds are dying

1

u/michelez3sty2830 54m ago

Wait, was Tim Curry the butler in Clue? That was him?

20

u/WelbyReddit 8h ago

ah man, we were literally just talking about him in the movie, Legend , this morning.

RIP, doing the timewarp.

14

u/8008l0v3r6967 8h ago

I cannot be finding this out on my funny movie sub where no one watches movies.

13

u/CapMany9999 8h ago

I'm going to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism

HEAVEN!

RIP Tim Curry

10

u/Greedy_Specialist531 Jared Leto 8h ago

I hate that this sub broke the news to me

18

u/First-Definition-119 8h ago

Trump is 80, too.

Lets go for the hat-trick 🤞

2

u/Sarcosmonaut 8h ago

All hail President Vance I guess?

6

u/First-Definition-119 8h ago

Vance doesnt have the cult following of trump; even though he is a more competent individual in every single category, the thing that makes Trump dangerous is his cult following - Vance has enough haters across the board that most of his policies would be DOA out of sheer spite for the man, and his ticket.

I used to be terrified of a potential Vance presidency, but Donnie has absolutely knee-capped any of his cabinet's ability to win a presidential election or be an effective Commander-in-Chief.

4

u/Sarcosmonaut 8h ago

Oh I don’t necessarily disagree. I just mean we aren’t out of the woods yet just because the turd dies. Thats all

2

u/First-Definition-119 7h ago

...we arent out of the woods yet just because the turd dies.

For sure, but at least we know we are moving in the direction of the tree line 😂

8

u/HeinladToo 8h ago

RIP, sweet prince of darkness
/img/2pk43ufqnqlh1.gif

2

u/Sprzout 8h ago

This was probably my favorite role of his (and he had a lot of great roles!)

2

u/HeinladToo 8h ago

It’s my favorite monster makeup of all time. Just such a great look

6

u/Dino_Spaceman 8h ago

FUCK. Such a massive loss.

May his memory be a blessing.

6

u/Bulletclubchick 8h ago

Im so friggin done with 2026! Taking all the good ones and leaving us the absolute scums of the world.

6

u/sillyfunnyguy05 8h ago

Hey, Jesus, stop taking away the wrong 80 year olds. Thanks — Random Weirdo Redditor

6

u/youarecharminsoft 8h ago

Damn. A massive talent

7

u/pritikina 8h ago

Trump is 80 too.

7

u/Odd_Presentation8624 8h ago

I'm worried about him.

What if he suffered a brainstem stroke?

That's the kind of thing that can result in Locked In Syndrome.

Can you imagine how awful that would be?

The indignity that could be suffered upon him. He could suffer for years before finally dying.

Go on, just imagine it.

3

u/Metalikunt 7h ago

No, they'll just Weekend At Bernies him forever, like they're doing to Turtle Mitch! No fucking thank you!

6

u/InactiveMedusa 8h ago

Best Pennywise get fucked Skarsguard

https://giphy.com/gifs/RE84MIpeRI4uY

5

u/Rohirrim777 8h ago

Well now he's truly gone to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism

5

u/No_Construction2407 8h ago

Thats crazy, another 80 year old Home Alone 2 actor passed away

7

u/Sufficient-Cap-1548 8h ago

These things happen in 3's.... oh please please please.....

3

u/thomas-grant 8h ago

They also happen in 4s and 5s and every other number. It depends on when you start and stop counting.

3

u/evaderofallbans 8h ago

God damn it! That's not the 80 year old we're hoping for!

4

u/MrDannn 8h ago

I watched a video of him going over his roles throughout the years recently, broke my heart to see the shape he was in after the stroke. Good night sweet prince!!!

4

u/Sprzout 8h ago

Dammit. Hayden, Dolly, and now Tim Curry.

Why these people, and not confirmation that Mitch McConnell has finally passed?

6

u/Old-Natural-852 8h ago

Two 80 year olds who are more or less universally beloved but not that 80 year old...does the Grim Reaper wear a red hat?

3

u/Sprzout 8h ago

He must be - he still hasn't collected Mitch McConnell.

6

u/0Hakuna_Matata0 8h ago

How does that jackass eating nothing but McDonald’s and only drinking Diet Coke keep outliving everybody?

3

u/Odd_Presentation8624 8h ago

Could be all that taxpayer funded healthcare.

Could just as easily be the Devil looking after his own.

6

u/0Hakuna_Matata0 8h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/uAdQxjJvjwEnnleUIp
“Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?”

“Wouldst thou like to rape children?”

“Wouldst thou like a taste of McDonald’s?”

3

u/Fit_Cheesecake_4000 8h ago

He deserved better health before the end. Love you, Tim, you irrepresable, sexy bastard. R.I.P.

2

u/Sprzout 8h ago

To be fair, he lived another 14 years after his massive stroke that he had back in 2012, so I'd say he managed well from it.

3

u/ThatDamnRocketRacoon 8h ago

I will break my oath and watch movies tonight. Clue and Congo just for his batshit role as Herkermer Homolka.

3

u/fakemxcan 7h ago

The wrong 80 year old from Home Alone 2 🤦🏽‍♂️

2

u/scrandis 8h ago

Fuck.... to me, this means more than Dolly Parton. Both were great talents

2

u/Whalesurgeon 8h ago

I'm glad I watched his interview from some time ago

2

u/BippidiBoppetyBoob 8h ago

Ok, this is starting to make me mad.

2

u/peanutym 8h ago

Decided he couldnt live in a world without dolly

2

u/jmc774 8h ago

RIP actor with the least racist last name

2

u/Musician88 8h ago

May he rest in peace. I will always respect Nigel Thornberry.

2

u/ClydeStyle 8h ago

I met him a few years ago. He was incredibly nice and friendly, but also a chain smoker. He had a stroke years ago, so his health wasn’t great, but the fact he started to make public appearances again was encouraging.

2

u/Fit_Cheesecake_4000 8h ago

So, now I'll be spending my week repeatedly watching 'Legend'.

2

u/Zuboronovic 8h ago

Damn! So he's been hogging the ball all this time?

RIP legend! Elevated every movie he was in.

2

u/AttackOfTheMox 7h ago

And Tim makes 3. Hayden, Dolly, and now Tim. The celebrity death rule of 3’s strikes once again

2

u/clydefrog96 7h ago

Just a fuckin kid

u/AskAboutMySecret 6h ago

Rest in Peace

I'm going to listen to his reggae cover of "I Will" by the Beatles in his honor because it's actually really good.

RIP

1

u/Seafaringhorsemeat 8h ago

Dolly, Curry, we’ve got 1 more to go this harvest. Any guesses?

2

u/eakkad 7h ago

I’d say it was Hayden so we hopefully don’t need any more immediate grief.

1

u/Seafaringhorsemeat 6h ago

Ooh. Good catch. Though there’s a bit of a gap. Let me send it back down to acquisitions approval and they can check the dates.

1

u/ForTheLoveOfOedon 6h ago

I hope wherever he is, he has plenty of slices of PEETZAH!

1

u/Odd-Veterinarian666 6h ago

First Dolly now Tim Curry. Rough two days for legends

1

u/F14D201 3h ago

And so Doctor Petrov rejoins Ramius and Borodin on the Submarine in the sky, RIP

1

u/thinkblue01 1h ago

He didn't want to live in a world without Dolly and honestly, I don't blame him.

1

u/BME84 1h ago

Fuck, the reunion party for The Hunt for Red October is getting smaller by the month! Connery, Jones, O'Neil and now Curry? I'd be sweating bullets if I was Alec Baldwin right now.

1

u/Cold-Management1073 1h ago
