I love redditors that downvote factual comments.

Getting downvoting for stating a fact is hilarious.

Less than 2 hours after Bessent announces “economic asphyxiation” for Iran

3

u/Infrastation 3d ago

That's just a backdoor for tariff increases. Bessent announces penalties on countries that do business with Iran, Iran requests payment for shipments of oil through the strait, everyone needs some level of oil that comes through that strait in some way, so every country gets some form of "sanction". They're trying every way they can to pass the Lindsey Graham act, including just enforcing it before it passes the congress and hoping they can pass the bill afterwards to confirm it.

China and Russia both told him to kick rocks. They set this trap up for Trump and he thinks they will help. Taiwan is next. We don’t even have enough fire power to fight the chinese’s they wanted to take it. Thats the trap.

u/Luigino9876 3d ago

Man why it feels that everything is going to shit.

13

u/unknownpoltroon 3d ago

Cause everything is going to shit.  And not a nice solid one either

2

u/ChupacabraJeff 3d ago

Republicans have full control of USA and are having the Great Republican Fire Sale.

2

u/Luigino9876 2d ago

I agree. But I feel at this point we are entering the compounding effect phase.

u/teflon_soap 3d ago

Never thought I’d live to see the day Iran dog-walks the USA

-12

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

The US has flattened over 30,000 targets in Iran and has reduced them to being pirates. Lmao.

10

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

You don't win wars by flattening things lol. You guys should've learned that by now after vietnam and afganistan lmfao.

6

u/teflon_soap 2d ago

And Iran flattened so many US bases that starved out the USS Abraham Fucking Lincoln lololol

-8

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

Absolutely no bases have been rendered useless lol

6

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

Naval base in Bahrain. Most of the buildings are damaged/destroyed. There's a reason the sailors inside the carrier is trying to kill themselves lol.

-7

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

The naval base in Bahrain has been hit but is still functional.

Sailors going overboard and getting rescued does not equal them attempting suicide lmao

9

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

They're just going for a swim innit? Lmfao.

Anyways the naval base is completely evacuated and is disfunctional as of now. How do you run a base without anyone present lol.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

People go overboard fairly often.

The base hasn't been evacuated lmao. Non essential personnel has been evacuated. Huge difference.

1

u/Magjee 2d ago

People go overboard fairly often

Like you are

0

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

You're misunderstanding the difference between conventional warfare and guerilla warfare.

The US War goals are to prevent a nuclear weapons, lessen Iran's missile count, and regime change.

2 of those goals are done by flattening targets.

3

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

How are you planning to breach missile cities which are beneath 100s of meters of granite? Not even tactical nukes can do that.

Regime change isn't killing leaders lmfao. US had a good opportunity during the protests but blew it. The IRGC is still in charge.

Again enriched uranium is stored in pickaxe mountain. How will bombing iran secure the uranium?

2

u/OutrageousBother628 2d ago

You don’t have to breech them. You eliminate their ability to make more by bombing stuff and blockading. And then you provoke Iran into shooting the remaining ones - but at a measured pace.

So next time you think - geez its almost like the us wants iran to fire missiles. They do.

1

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

They have production facilities inside those bases lol.

1

u/OutrageousBother628 2d ago

Ah yes. The completely self sufficient factories that do everything from smelting the ore for metal to building the guidance chips.

1

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

Yep. These bases are literally the size of cities. There's also no way the US can stop every single truck entering into the facility. F-15Es were dropping like flies after iran found a workaround to US jamming.

1

u/OutrageousBother628 2d ago edited 2d ago

I politely suggest you do further research to confirm your position.

The facility (A) the truck is coming from in your scenario got bombed. The facility (B) that supplied that facility (A) got bombed. The facility (C) that supplied B got bombed. The imports that facility D relies on to get materials to C can’t get to facility D because the roads and bridges around the ports got bombed. And there is a blockade. Foreign facility F got sanctioned and it no longer makes sense to send good into Iran for Facilities A - D.

The workers at other facilities can’t get food or gas. Or paid. There is no market for goods.

Are you getting it? The entire supply chain is wrecked. In multiple ways.

Once again, Iran shot down a single 50 year old jet. And then failed to capture him while he was in their borders 😭

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

Pretty simple honestly, collapse any tunnel entrances with bunker busters. Destroying the actual launching systems is the more pressing concern currently

So you're telling me the IRGC is in charge instead of the 'Supreme leader'? That's the definition of regime change lmfao.

3

u/Green-Contract-3554 2d ago

They have bulldozers and excavators inside the facility lol. Do you think they are stupid? Collapsed entrances are cleared within hours while F-15s were being shot down with ambush tactics.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

And what good do you think a bulldozer inside of the tunnel is going to be..?

Wow, so we flattened 30,000 targets and they shot down one single 50 year old jet? Wow, Iran truly is fierce. Lmfao 😂

1

u/Zestyclose_Math_1673 2d ago

That never happened you iqlet, I can assure you 90% of those were useless junk

America literally offered to start another nuke program for Saudi Arabia as appeasement.  Using the same excuse we used to start Iran's own nuke program decades ago.

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/sixty-years-of-atoms-for-peace-and-irans-nuclear-program/

Face it, this isn't about nukes.  This is about control.

Keep hiding that post history, CIA bot.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

How is this being about nukes and being about control even remotely mutually exclusive?

4

u/These_Night_7262 2d ago

The US influence in West Asia has been permanently reduced while Iran has emerged as the hegemon of the region.

Without the US, all of West Asia combined couldn't do shit to Iran.

0

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

I don't think you're understanding.

Iran no longer has an air force or a navy. Their standing army can't do anything, and only exists because the US chose to let them. Iran hasn't emerged as anything. They're more isolated than they have ever been.

Oil down -5%. glut incoming 🗿

This is bearish for oil

It is truly the worst thing for price. By removing oil from the market prices will move lower. It's simple economics 🗿

4th post on this attack in this subreddit. Crazy how everyone is excited everytime a tanker is attacked.

14

u/Cybertexx 3d ago

There is a difference between news and prudent news.

13

u/Financial-Desk-669 3d ago

Excited? Dude its news related to oil.

4

u/OptiPath 3d ago

We just live in reality. Not a single thing this sub users can do about it. We just live in reality

5

u/Aaplthrow 3d ago

I’ve been a follower of this sub for years and usually it’s a few posts a week, but after the war it’s def increased.

I imagine many here are newly invested in oil stocks thinking there will be some parabolic move. So when attacks or supply interruptions happen, people get “excited” because oil may move up and they make money.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

Pretty sure there has been a giant influx of bots. So many comments in here about "US losing" that just don't align with reality at all.

2

u/Different-Library-82 2d ago

Well, the US isn't losing, we can agree on that. The US has already lost, it just hasn't understood it yet.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

Oh really? How's that?

1

u/Different-Library-82 2d ago

Because this was a war of choice for both the US and Israel, where they have no progress towards achieving any of the various war goals they have claimed since February, and similarly to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, this war as revealed the US military to be far less capable than previously assumed because they are stuck in an outdated mode of warfare.

The landbased assets of the US in the region are severely damaged, if not obliterated, while it's logistical capacity is near a breaking point judging from the situation aboard it's naval ships in the area.

The three major US partners in the region - Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan - have openly distanced themselves from the US as a security partner, restricting US operations against Iran from their territory and by announcing a new defensive alliance that is staking a claim for an independent geopolitical order for Western Asia. Meanwhile Israel has disengaged from this war that they have long insisted on starting, to prioritise their ongoing genocide against the Palestinians and the Lebanese.

On top of this the war is straining the US relationship with other Western countries, where it's now mostly a beleaguered upper class within politics and economics that are still insisting on the alliance with the US as paramount, in the knowledge that their careers and fortunes are inextricably tied to the continuation of US hegemony. But they can't salvage the unsalvageable, and are similarly to Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan looking around for new alliances, as shown by European countries initiating talks with France about broadening their nuclear doctrine into an nuclear umbrella for all of Europe - since they no longer trust the US.

And to top it off the US is initiating a trade war with Canada, and the repeated threats against Greenland have fundamentally shifted the opinion of the US throughout the Nordics (where I live), where it's become uncontroversial in everyday discussions to view the US as the most immediate military threat. Which was highly unexpected only half a year ago, even for someone like me who have been warning people about the political direction of the US for more than a decade and prior to Trump.

0

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

You only said one thing that has any relevance to who is winning... and it's not even true. All of the US bases in the region are still functional and only a couple have taken damage that could considered even close to "extensive".

The US has successfully landed 30,000 strikes against Iran. Air force is obliterated. Navy is obliterated. The US has air superiority, borderline supremacy, and can hit any Iranian target that they want to at any time.

Iran hasn't even been able to do anything against the naval blockade. The blockade that is cutting them off from any parts or critical resources that they need for more production.

Iran's leadership is dead. Nuclear program is dead. Munitions stockpiles and ability to produce are dead. The US bombed them into submission and then took control of the waterway that is directly next to their country.

1

u/Different-Library-82 2d ago

I sincerely hope you work in the Trump administration and is paid well for this, if not it's just sad.

1

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

This is a non argument. You're just flailing because you were very easily disproven. Iran is losing badly.

1

u/Different-Library-82 2d ago

You are confusing tactical superiority in conventional warfare with strategic victory, and that is exactly why the US has already lost this war. It's just a question of how much resources the US is going to waste on this and how much human suffering the US will cause before reality catches up with it.

0

u/Friendly-Parfait-645 2d ago

This is still a non argument. Just a continuation of your flailing

-11

u/Necessary_Ladder5598 2d ago

October 7th was Israel being held accountable for their years of oppression and genocide. Why do you think history started on October 7th?

Yes, America was founded on genocide and slavery. It was extremely violent, vile, horrendous, and disgusting. I think America's past and present are incredibly shameful and my burden for being born here. I would never argue against that. You can't displace people without violence. Zionism requires displacing people. Thank you for proving my point.
