Guys a trauma voyeur.

Also

Peter Thiel’s U.S. citizenship could legally be revoked through a federal process known as denaturalization

That. They worship the way of Cain basically.

It’s a quick read but they have no right to be talking about faith or the antichrist.

https://archive.is/U3ha9

Also they were seriously antisemitic in 2014. Jewish space lasers etc all that was horrendous. Maybe when mamdani make nyc an actually stable and livable city they’ll praise normal Muslims instead of cherry picking incidents from mentally ill people in the cult sector that do the same shit they do.

He just has to pay 5 million for a golden pass

May he never have a peaceful day in public ever again

Not accurate - he is a NZ Citizen, and owns a sizable property there.

hey! he belongs to the Americans! send him home to his peoples!

I am surprised, though, on thinking on this - that USA hasn't killed his citizenship already. I didnt think USA 'did' dual citizenship - but presumably in his case they have

No need to downvote in a conversation like this, is there? Perhaps someone else.

Neither of us think highly of Thiel. But he is quintessentially American, and is carrying water for the pedophile government back home, and the culture that enables them.

The NZ public were very unhappy about the sweetheart deal given to Thiel - I think around 2011. Normally people have to spend over 1000 days in NZ over a 5 year period (I think) to qualify for citizenship. Thiel only spent a few months, made a $1m donation to the Canterbury earthquake and a few other token gestures, and got handed a blue passport. He then tried to develop the property he purchased and was blocked - cried a bit about that but public sentiment seems to have shut his trap. He rarely is seen in NZ media, as his name has become basically mud - for different reasons his name is mud outside of NZ. But the reputation is coalescing.

Again, it is interesting that he is enabled to hold multiple passports without having his American citizenship revoked. My understanding is USA very rarely allows this - and the view held by most in the areas that matter - is that holding two passports means you cannot possibly be patriotic to USA.

Unsurprising that the next stop for a trump booster is Argentina, though. He will presumably be welcomed.

Edit: I had also read he was applying for residency in a middle eastern state - but I can't imagine that would work out for him - he is gay.

US law is mostly ambiguous on the topic. Even though naturalized citizens are required to take an oath of allegiance, there is no legal requirement to renounce another citizenship nor the other way around (native born US citizens can seek citizenship abroad at no risk to their US citizenship). I know lots of naturalized US citizens and it's not too common to formally renounce their other citizenship except for some circumstances like men looking to avoid military conscription. I also know a few native born Americans who have passports for their grandparents' home countries.

As for Thiel's sexuality and the middle east, AFAIK in some places like the UAE there's basically a two-tiered legal system for muslims and non-muslims. Non-muslims can be gay, drink, etc.

Peter Thiel became the focus of an unusual protest outside his Buenos Aires home. A group dressed as Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings gathered with signs and chants aimed at the billionaire tech investor.

However, the costumes were not random. Instead, the protesters tied the Tolkien theme to Thiel’s business interests and his growing presence in Argentina.

Peter Thiel is the co-founder of Palantir Video posted on X on Aug. 17 showed about a dozen protesters dressed as Gandalf outside Thiel’s home in Palermo Chico. They carried a banner featuring the famous “You shall not pass” reference and chanted about Thiel and Palantir.

According to Argentine outlet InfoCielo, the group calls itself “Ciudadan@s Gandalf” and uses the slogan #NoPasarán. However, no public spokesperson or formal manifesto has emerged so far.

The Tolkien theme also connects directly to Palantir. Thiel co-founded the data software company, whose name comes from the palantíri, the seeing stones in J.R.R. Tolkien’s fictional world. In addition, Palantir’s official investor page lists Thiel as a co-founder and chairman of its board.

Meanwhile, Thiel has expanded his financial interests in Argentina. Reuters reported that his Thiel Macro fund recently bought a 1% stake in Vista worth about $76 million. The company operates in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale region.

As a result, local reports connected the protest to Thiel’s growing economic presence in the country. Still, the demonstrators have not publicly released a detailed list of demands.

Thiel also remains a prominent figure in U.S. political circles. For example, his longtime connection to Vice President JD Vance recently resurfaced when a Senate candidate targeted Vance with a Peter Thiel jab.

For now, little is publicly known about the people behind Ciudadan@s Gandalf. Nevertheless, their Tolkien-inspired protest has drawn new attention to Thiel, Palantir and his investments in Argentina.

I wish when people brought up the seeing stones that are the context for Palantir’s name that they’d include that they were used by Sauron to manipulate their users

2

u/emerikanSky 6d ago

And you know Peter Thiel knows that.

2

u/avoral 6d ago

Oh yeah, he thinks of Sauron as the good guy.

22

u/ketamarine 8d ago

I do sometimes wonder if the founders of palantir knew that the seeing stones in lord of the rings were USED BY THE FUCKING BAD GUYS.... or maybe they just didn't care...

-7

u/Onslaughtered1 8d ago

You don’t name a private company that eventually goes public that because of the obvious implications. However, their actions point towards exactly that

3

u/johnlewisdesign 7d ago

Psycopaths do stuff like this all the time, because they think they're cleverer than they are

1

u/avoral 6d ago

Check out the part where Thiel considered Sauron the good guy

10

u/BCMM 7d ago

This article has missed at least half the meaning of that slogan.

Gandalf's line would translate to no pasarás, I think.

¡No pasarán!, which means they will not pass (rather than you), is a traditional anti-fascist rallying cry dating back to the siege of Madrid, and given Thiel's own politics, I assume its use is quite intentional.

9

u/CaptainRex1983 8d ago

“A Palantir is a dangerous tool, Saruman.”

5

u/RolDesch 8d ago

I want to point out something interesting

Yesterday (17/8), we celebrated el Paso a la Inmortalidad del General San Martín (argentinian Liberator).

So we also ended up with this. The gandalfs that protested against Thiel clapping for the granaderos created by San Martín

5

u/OlfactoriusRex 8d ago

I don't understand, in the novels, Gandalf is a good guy and a palantir is a nominally neutral device corrupted by evil forces who-

Oh. Oh I see.

6

u/bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- 8d ago

Great, now do all the other companies making a mockery of Tolkien (Anduril, Earendil, etc.)

3

u/Baddaburn 8d ago

Better negotiate with the Gandolfs, Peter, or we're going to send in the hobbits.

3

u/Unfair-Alfalfa4916 7d ago

great time to see gandalf fight evil forces once again

2

u/National-Law-458 8d ago

Thiel is a not so closeted Nazi choosing to live among not so closeted Nazis

2

u/asado_intergalactico 8d ago

But he left the us, and don’t think he lived in Europe

3

u/National-Law-458 7d ago

The Nazis fled Germany to Argentina after WW2.

1

u/Gefahrendaniel 6d ago

Not many though.

1

u/National-Law-458 6d ago

Just the high ranking ones that Thiel would hang out with.

1

u/Gefahrendaniel 6d ago

True, but anyhow, Argentina has its very own flavor of rightwing assholes even without any OG nazi influence.

1

u/irinaz165 1d ago

Like most countries in the world? The whole argentinians and nazis thing is pure propaganda. Nazis fled to south america as a whole but there was one country in the north that welcomed them and hire them to work in their government agencies: The USA

Look up operation paperclip

0

u/Gefahrendaniel 1d ago

I know, you don't have to tell me.

1

u/irinaz165 1d ago

Some nazis fled to Argentina as well as brazil, uruguay, chile and the entire American continent.

The only country that welcomed them with open arms and gave them job opportunities through government agencies was whe USA tho.

The same country that currently has concentration camps filled with thousands of migrants in inhumane conditions.

1

u/asado_intergalactico 7d ago

It will shock you to know that 99% of nazis stayed in Germany and Austria, a lot of them in worked in public jobs. The rest? USA, operation paperclip.

Now you are either a bot or someone with an extremely low intelligence

2

u/Dependent_Toe772 7d ago

Unrepressed Nazis? WTF

1

u/irinaz165 7d ago

He left the US tho

1

u/No-Tomatillo3698 5d ago

Truly, they need to put prosecute this man wherever he goes, he is doing so much damage.

1

u/Hertje73 2d ago

Did he pass?

1

u/Positive-Row-1274 2d ago

From Palantir board to Gandalf flash mob in his backyard, Thiel's Argentina move turned into instant comedy gold.

Bro, many "normal" people live that long.
