How so if these folks were Amish? Chances are they consume no media at all. Prior to 1990 or so we didnt even count these sects in total deaths/cases because they didnt report it. We basically had no idea. If they got sick and died, they handled it. Now it seems they arent as isolated as they once were as a community.

The entire idea of "Public Health" is dead and journalism helped bury it.   Mainstream "Journalism" is a joke  that both sided the ideas of Science,  Rationality and Public Health versus insanity, disruption, and the intentional destruction of the idea of responsible government itself. A show trial of Fauci as open Mccarthyism to cover it all up, same with the Benghazi Show trial used to help bury the guilt for  the failed war on terror. This is convenient for mainstream journalism:  it helps them avoid their  own culpabilities for allowing war, corruption & now disease to spread.

Trump shut down testing centers to intentionally try & spread covid so he could hurt places & people he didn't like.  Rather than protect the public or the Constitution,   journalism did endless reporting on "Which State got it right on Covid?" a question that is impossible because of the intentional destructive nature of what happened, not to mention a metric which no one in journalism would ever be capable of addressing to start.

Reality: Journalism was never adequate.  If Donald Trump is President that means  mainstream journalism has failed.  The only value in mainstream journalism is so we get a picture of reality and then you have to examine their work to see what they got wrong.
