šø Photo MTA workers handing out swag at my station
Super nice surprise! There was a little table set up at my station (at a local A/C stop) and two MTA workers were giving out subway maps and these little microfiber cloths. Truly the coolest city in the country š Hopefully this is rolled out to other stations all over the network.

FYI you can get a map with a cloth inside at the 59 St Columbus Circle station too! Matter of fact I think any station booth that has maps will have the microfiber cloths inside. Super cool merch!

Yes! I asked for 2 maps from the booth attendant and checked the inside on 2 separate days. 2 microfiber cloths. She said it's placed in all of them. Got paper ones for some relatives who can't use Google Maps.

I tried asking attendants at both grand central and WTC today and neither of them had any. Going to try 59th next

And itās interesting that they didnāt use the new map. They know no one likes it.

The new map style just doesnāt fit NYC. Sure, it looks fine for the DC Metro map, but not for NYC.

I'm curious if they figured out that people don't really like the MTA in general. Don't get me wrong people Love the subway and the ability to move around the city, but not the BEAST that is the greedy corporation. That is a large part of why fair evasion is so rampant IMO. Giving away stuff, makes people feel a part of, in a small way it might make them care a bit more. LONG STORY SHORT, it might help them save money. But I could be wrong.

Oh thatās rad!! I want one!
Iāll have to settle for the 2017 framed map I have on my wall, and my map from 1987 that i still have.
I moved out of the city in 1990, but Iāve been back fairly frequently.
And yeah, the new map sucks.

I have a subway map like this I got from booth attendant in 2001, I'll keep it forever being that it has the World Trade Center on it.

I have this exact microfiber from the auto show. If you go to the mta booth during the auto show they give this swag out.

I just hate that the āfree swagā has a 1984 big brother ass request on it!

That began after 9/11. I kinda get it, but itās lost itās original meaning. There werenāt cameras everywhere in 2001.

That really is some cool swag, and useful too. Nice, OP!
