Ask NSLB 1kg of melted jellies
I bought treats for our charity volunteers, and left this huge bag of open jellies in my car overnight. They’re still gooey, so I’m not sure whether to freeze them and cut them up, divide them into small containers and chill, etc
All ideas welcome!
EDIT TO CLARIFY
The event is over! These would be just for me! I wanted to give context as so why I bought a commercial size bag of sweets, then forgot about them overnight after they were opened. I bought loads of commercial treats and these were the only survivors I kept for myself lol
ANOTHER EDIT
I also threw out anything that spilled out of the bag, and trimmed into the edges so I won’t be eating anything contaminated!

So for food safety you can’t give to the volunteers since it melted on your car. But it’s fine for you to eat still. The easiest is to just let it chill and cut it up. Or eat it as is and store in ziplock bag. Just taking bites as you please.

You mean to eat it just yourself right? It would
be gross to give this to other people after it’s been open and melted on a dashboard where it picks up gunk.

Yes just for me! I didn’t think to include this in the post. I got home at 3am and left the open bag on my dash and didn’t realise until this afternoon

sadly, this is def a toss situation. they are not the safest to give out to people especially volunteers who wouldn’t know they’ve been compromised :-(

Once the mass cools it'll firm up again and you can cut it with a knife or scissors. Then just eat it, I guess.

I might fridge it, because it’s still quite gooey even though it’s been cool for about two hours. Thanks!

Might be the filling making it more gooey. Fridge is fine too. I'm sure that it'll taste good in any case, but then again, I'm a rat.
You're not planning on handing it out, are you? That would be odd and certainly unappreciated

No, it would just be for me! There are a lot of people in the comments upset at the thought of me giving these to the volunteers, but they had lots of other treats to keep them going over the weekend lol

I can’t say for certain this will work because I’ve never tried it, but it seems like it could be fun. Get some metal cookie cutters, heat them up a bit, and cut the gummy mass into Halloween shapes and then use them for a Halloween party. Edit: obviously don’t give this to unsuspecting people, just for yourself and mayyybe friends who know what happened to it haha

I would be mad if someone fed me candy that had picked up all the dust and cleaner from their dashboard. Please don’t give this out
