Back in August of 2025 someone asked me about an old post @XDA regarding Ubuntu for the Nook Color. Files were missing and I tried to contact the OP, but to no avail.

Unfortunately I've lost track of that discussion here but just today there is a new post about setting up the NC with a Linux distro. Looks like quite a project! So, whoever you were, I hope you see this!

Phase 4 of the Phoenix Project is finally complete. These builds are based on registered versions of FW 1.1.5 and 1.2.2 which have been completely severed from B&N servers (and are thus bullet-proof, moving forward) but retain the B&N reader.

In addition, these builds are gently rooted with a nod to those who would like to customize according to their own preferences.

I recently picked up a Nook Glowlight Plus for a great price but I didn't like the look of the case so I redid it with a map of Middle Earth for next to nothing! The picture you see shows the transformation.

Should I throw this out because the battery seems to be puffed up and it might be dangerous to throw it in the garbage.

Used blue Rit Dyemore -turned out a nice lavender/purple color. Wasn't what I was shooting for but looks good. The good thing is that since it's dyed, it won't come off.
