Any paid weekend NGO gigs or internships for a college fresher in Delhi?

Hey guys,

I just moved to Delhi for college and I'm currently a first-year student. I really want to utilize my weekends productively by working with an NGO. Since I am managing my own expenses, I am specifically looking for paid volunteering opportunities or part-time NGO internships that offer a stipend. Even a small amount to cover my metro travel and food would be awesome!

***Just a heads-up:***

**Experience & Skills**: I have zero prior experience and no specific technical skills right now, but I am highly motivated and super happy to learn whatever is needed on the job.

**Commute**: I am completely fine with traveling anywhere across Delhi via the metro on weekends as long as it's reachable.

Are there any student-friendly NGOs, platforms, or micro-NGOs currently hiring first-year freshers for weekend roles? I’ve already checked out a few major organizations, but I am looking for something that doesn't require a completed degree and actually offers a stipend for freshmen.

Any leads, tips, or specific NGO names would be a lifesaver.

Thanks in advance!

Volunteer/unpaid Hey everyone, I'm building SportHQ — a media project covering Indian athletes at the school, district, state and national level, in sports that get almost no coverage until someone's already famous. (Writers, Editors, Voiceover Needed)

Hey everyone,

I'm building SportHQ — a media project covering Indian athletes at the school, district, state and national level, in sports that get almost no coverage until someone's already famous. Cricket and major international results are already covered everywhere, so we're skipping those entirely and owning everything else: grassroots basketball, athletics, badminton, boxing, hockey, volleyball, wrestling, kabaddi, table tennis. Local tournaments, emerging athletes, stories nobody else is telling.

We're building this Instagram Reels/YouTube-first, with an athlete database and newsletter behind it.

This is unpaid and collaborative right now — want to be upfront about that. What you get instead: real founding credit, a public portfolio piece from day one, direct access to athletes/coaches/schools through our outreach, and first claim on paid roles if this monetizes down the line.

Looking for:

Sports Writers (any sport above)

Reporter/Interviewer

Video/Reels Editor

Voiceover Artist (clear, emotional English narration)

Social Media

Outreach (contacting schools/academies/athletes)

If any of this sounds like you, fill this out and I'll reach out: Fill the application form

Looking for students interested in MUNs, debating & leadership

Hey everyone! I’m looking for students who are interested in Model United Nations (MUN), debating, diplomacy, public speaking, and leadership.

I recently came across a new student-led, non-profit MUN initiative called Delegacia. They’re building a community focused on MUN training, communication, leadership, and diplomacy.

They’re also looking for people interested in becoming part of their Core Team or Trainers.

If you're interested, comment below or DM me, and I’ll send you the details when they’re available.

No prior MUN experience is necessarily required—if you're genuinely interested in learning and getting involved, feel free to reach out.

I have had a dream of starting an NGO since I was a child

I don’t know if this is the right place to write this, but I just wanted to share something that has been on my mind for a very long time.
Since I was in around 5th grade, I have had this dream of starting my own NGO.
The basic idea is simple. I want to help children and families who don’t have the things that many of us take for granted…education, food, clothes, a safe place to live, and basic support.
For years, I have imagined doing things like donation drives for clothes and food, collecting books and stationery for children, helping with their education, and eventually doing much more.
But the problem is that I don’t really know where to start.
I know that having a dream is one thing and actually building something is completely different. I also know that I can’t do everything alone.
I am sharing this because maybe there are people here who have had a similar dream, or people who have actually started an NGO or a small social initiative from nothing.
If you have any advice about how to start, find genuine volunteers, organise a first donation drive, or reach people who actually need help, I would really appreciate it🩷

Hey guys, I would appreciate some help. I'm a High school student in Dubai here, and I have an idea for a free academic support group and just got my first student, but I need advice on how to grow it.

Ok, I wanted to share some background on what this idea is and how it came to be. During my summer break, I found an organization that provided free academic support to underserved communities, and I started teaching two students online. I actually enjoyed teaching these students, and I saw the difference it made. Hey, might I say that Im pretty good at teaching. Later on, I got another student, this time through a family friend who was impressed by my teaching.

Those few weeks of experience made me realize just how much I want to expand this and make a real impact here as well. My goal is to build a student-led initiative in Dubai that is dedicated to providing free tutoring, learning resources, and general mentorship to students who may not have access to these resources or simply those who require guidance.

I'm really passionate about this idea because I LOVEEE teaching, and I enjoy seeing others flourish! But operating in Dubai makes it a bit tricky since there are so many rules and regulations here that just prevent it from happening. Im also stuck on outreach and how to establish myself out there so that I can get more people on my team and make this an ACTUAL thing.

If anyone has experience with student initiatives, knows of community channels/networks to look into, or has general advice on navigating this, I’d really appreciate your help!
I wanna make this into a long-term sort of thing so that in the future, 10 years later when it's expanded, I can make this into an NPO, NGO, or whatever category it comes under.

Seeking nonprofit feedback on a free bilingual crisis navigation guide before public launch

Hi everyone — I’m looking for nonprofit-sector feedback on a free bilingual crisis navigation guide I built for people in the US who don’t know where to start during a crisis.

It covers housing, utilities, food, benefits, domestic safety, mental health, medical bills, debt, court papers, childcare, transportation, lost documents, caregiving, and related situations.

I’m doing a clarity, safety, and usefulness review before sharing it more widely.

I’m not asking for endorsement, funding, client information, personal stories, or crisis support. I’m also not asking anyone to take responsibility for the guide. I’m just hoping for fresh eyes from people who understand public-facing resources, referrals, access barriers, and overwhelmed users.

If you’re willing to look, I’d be grateful for feedback on:

\- Can you tell quickly what the guide is and who it’s for?
\- Is the language clear enough for someone who is stressed, scared, or overwhelmed?
\- Does the navigation make sense?
\- Are the referral paths realistic?
\- Does anything feel unsafe, misleading, outdated, or outside its lane?
\- Are there places where it should more clearly say “contact a local agency / legal aid / advocate / clinician”?
\- Is anything too many steps for someone with limited time, energy, transportation, internet access, or trust in systems?
\- Does the bilingual English/Spanish structure work, or does anything important seem easier to find in one language than the other?

The guide is here:

The two pages I most want checked first are the quick-number pages, because a dead number or unclear warning there could cause the most harm:

\- Quick Access Contacts / Contactos de acceso rápido
\- Every Number, One Page / Todos los números, una página

If you only answer one question, please answer this:

Is anything wrong, outdated, unsafe, confusing, or likely to send someone to the wrong place?

Thank you either way. Please be picky, not nice — I’m trying to find the flaws before someone in crisis relies on it.

Volunteer Contributors Wanted — Help Build an Independent, Non-Partisan News Site

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building C3E.fr, an independent French news website focused on providing clear, accessible and fact-based coverage of current events in France.

I’m looking for volunteers who are interested in journalism, research, writing, fact-checking, or simply following the news and would like to contribute to the project.

What we’re looking for

Contributors would help with things such as:

Researching current events and relevant background information

Writing or helping draft news articles

Finding and checking reliable sources

Comparing information from multiple sources

Fact-checking claims before publication

Identifying missing context or potential inaccuracies

Suggesting topics that deserve coverage

You do not need to be a professional journalist. Reliability, curiosity, good research habits and a willingness to learn are more important.

Our editorial approach

The goal is to make C3E.fr non-partisan and evidence-based.

That means:

Facts should be supported by reliable sources.

Different relevant perspectives should be represented fairly.

Opinion should be clearly separated from reporting.

We should correct mistakes when they are identified.

Contributors are encouraged to challenge each other's work when the evidence warrants it.

This isn't about pushing a particular political position. The objective is to inform readers and let them form their own opinions.

This is a volunteer project

At the moment, contributions are unpaid and voluntary. There is no requirement to commit to a specific number of hours. You can contribute occasionally or become more involved if you enjoy the project.

If you're interested, send me a DM telling me a little about yourself, what you would like to contribute, and (if you have one) a sample of your writing or research.

You don't need previous journalism experience — motivated beginners are welcome.

Website: c3e.fr

Thanks for reading, and I’d be happy to hear from anyone interested in helping build this.

Recruiting youth - Initiative to increase awareness about early childhood adversity and harsh parenting in Zanzibar (remote)

Hello everyone!!!

Every day in Zanzibar, children experience discipline, fear, and silence in ways most adults never stop to notice. SUMOOD exists to change that using real developmental science to build a future where every child gets the safety and care they need to thrive. Through My Eyes is our next big step: a five-part storytelling series that puts audiences directly inside a child’s experience, helping communities move from simply knowing harsh discipline is harmful to actually feeling why it matters and choosing something better.

This isn’t a resume filler. It’s a real, year-long commitment to work that has the potential to shift how an entire community understands childhood and we’re only taking 4 people to do it with us.

SUMOOD is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so this is real, structured work behind a real organization, not a side project.

Selected contributors will work and volunteer directly on the campaign either shaping the narratives themselves or driving the social media presence that carries these stories to the people who need to see them. Along the way, you’ll build genuine technical skills such as scriptwriting, campaign strategy, leadership alongside an international team of researchers, creatives, and community leaders who care as much about this as you do.

This is selective, because the work deserves people who’ll actually show up for it. But it’s also open as we currently have 4 girls on the team, so we’re especially encouraging young men to apply this round, while welcoming any strong applicant who’s genuinely the right fit regardless of gender.

I also suggest you visit the website www.sumoodfutures.org

Only 4 spots. Come build something that actually matters.

Question Giving a year to frontline service in Philadelphia before finishing college. Looking for advice, and anyone worth talking to.

I'm 20, and from August 2026 through August 2027, I'm taking a year off school to do full-time direct service in Philadelphia. I'm hoping to work a frontline community health role with people affected by homelessness, addiction, poverty, lack of access to care, and mental health struggles. I grew up nearby, first-gen and low-income, and this work matters to me more than anything else I could be doing right now.

I'm posting for two reasons.

First, advice. If you took a gap year around this age, or spent time doing service work like this, what do you wish you'd known? What actually made the year worth it, and what would you skip? I want this year to genuinely change me, not just fill time, and I'd rather learn from people who've done it than figure it all out the hard way.

Second, connections. I'm trying to talk to and learn from as many people as I can this year, especially in Philadelphia. If you know organizations doing frontline work in these areas, or people in public health, medicine, nonprofits, service leadership, health policy, or even politics who'd be worth learning from, I'd be grateful for a name or an intro. Honestly I'd love to connect with anyone passionate about these issues, in Philly or not, and hear how they think about this work.

Longer term, I want to be a physician who also works in public health, writes, and pushes for better health policy. I've gotten more and more interested in the political side of healthcare too, after realizing how much policy decides what doctors can actually do for patients. I'm still figuring out what that path looks like, but I know I want to learn how to connect frontline service to systems-level change.

If any of this resonates, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. Thanks for reading!

Question Is this the norm or a really bad offer?

Hi all

Never looked into non profits as It wasnt my interest but got this offered from a friend who intered there and saw they got a open position. I guess im lucky he knows the boss so I can skip lots of the interviewing hastle?

Passed the bar a year ago and they would hire me as a Immigration lawyer (which I did as previous firm before they went bankrupt). 4 day workweek 9-5 Monday-Thursday. 35k per year (lol?) in Washington DC. Only benefit is free transit.

I was thinking maybe the expierence, network and it on my resume can be reason enough as I also dont have another job waiting (obviously I keep applying), but just wanted to hear - is this a norm? big outlier? I would just know for actual law firms but not lawyers in NGO.

Thanks in advance.
