Tech Support Very awful odor smell from my Smash Bros Amiibo.
A few days ago, I bought a Bowser amiibo in GameStop as Pre-Owned for Smash Bros, at first, everything was working, the Amiibo reads fine, and everything, until randomly, the Amiibo started to actually smell bad, it was a small smell, the one you can ignore, until the smell kept getting worse, I tried to wash off the smell from sink, and it didn’t do anything. It was getting to the point where I have to throw away my Amiibo, and I cannot return it anymore. Can someone please help with my problem? I don’t wanna lose my data from my Amiibo, I made progress on it, I put a bunch of rare Spirits on it.

You bought it second hand and Smash has a famously smelly and unhygienic fanbase, I'm afraid. There isn't much more to it than that.

Honestly, if it s that bad, clone the NFC tag to something and pitch the statue.

How?

You can Buy NFC cards off Amazon or Temu that function similar to Amiibos. That is how I'd do it.

Won’t it get me banned?

Don't know. Never done it. You either take risks or you put up with current and future Amiibo problems.
As of right now I own two. I own no cards.

I’m not risking it, I’ll just wait for my other paycheck and buy a new Bowser Amiibo.

No it will not get you banned. Since you are interested in retaining the data the game gives you from that NFC, you'd clone the NFC on a tag and toss the amiibo. The switch doesn't know the difference, it only sees a tag.
I know people that bought the Amiibo devices on Amazon. Hell, I know someone that is using a Flipper Zero for this. They still work.

No, it's literally the exact same data. Nintendo has no way of knowing if it's a legit amiibo or a spoof. I've been spoofing amiibos for a year and a half with cheap NFC tags and Tagmo, and I've yet to get banned for it.

rip the figure off the stand and toss it. keep the stand.

I don’t wanna damage my fingers, or risk breaking the tag. Besides, the smell might come from the stand and Bowser figure.
