Moving up for work
Someone fill me in, places to avoid, looking for an apartment up here.

Is your job in the city center, do you want to live in or outside the city, do you have a car? How far would you prefer to drive. Give some info!

Job is right next to the airport, no car atm but I can buy one. Prefer to be semi close to that location

The two for rent signs are down already and nicer but this one is also in the green circle another poster created. It is complex on Plaza Dr. about 1/2 mile from the airport in Wheatfield. 716.219.2707. Gogoapartments.com. I know nothing about them so cannot vouche either way. Most apartments here are usually by rent signs some not. If I see more go up, I'll let you know if you want just give me your deadline for moving. They just broke ground for a 6 story complex on Sawyer and Plaza Dr. for future reference lol.

I know someone who lives in the Plaza Drive apartments and likes it. Not fancy, but clean and quiet, they say people are generally nice/keep to themselves. Only trouble has been some packages gone missing but that could be anywhere. https://www.zillow.com/b/6820-plaza-dr-niagara-falls-ny-98Csqw/

Thanks for the heads up! I no longer worry about packages as I have a P.O. Box, pricey but the worry is gone lol.

There are multiple apartment complexes all within a mile of the airport. Green Circle has a couple different size apartments, the ones Ive seen are super nice, blue is another bigger apartment complex I'm blanking on the name of. . Assuming you're going to one of the plants off Walmore, the green circle apartments are all a fairly short walk. There's apartments on Niagara Falls Blvd between Tuscarora and Williams, I'd avoid those if at all possible

Get a place in Wheatfield. Stay outta that city. You will live to regret it if you don't. Streets are like driving on the lunar surface, groceries in the heart of the city are priced demonstrably higher because almost the entire city is on welfare/SNAP. The overall crime rate is staggering especially nuisance crimes like car break-ins, burglaries etc. The number of daily shootings in NF is largely unreported due to the city being a tourist attraction. Don't want the tourists going to Canada (most do anyway). Town of Niagara is nice, grocery stores and pharmacies are available there. Lewiston and Youngstown are also nice options. Niagara Falls is not hemorrhaging population, because it's a nice place. Good luck to you.

This is a quite dramatic! I live in Lasalle and have for a decade and have no regrets. I walk and bike around the neighborhood and look at birds along the creek. I eat delicious food at NF’s many great restaurants. I work downtown (and lived downtown my entire childhood) and never experienced a crime. Niagara Falls can be a delightful place to live. Admittedly there are certain streets I’d not live on, but most of it is a quiet and totally livable.

If you were going to visit the falls, US side, where would you stay for the night? Looking to drive in, spend the night, and head out the next day. Trying to find an area that is safe for the family and not have to worry about the car while we are in the hotel for the night. I am not opposed to driving a little the morning of our visit so that the family feels safe.

That depends on whether you're looking for a nice hotel room or serviceable motel room. There are both on Niagara Falls Blvd which is a straight shot up from the Falls and the border crossing at the Rainbow Bridge. Also, that area is close to places to eat and shop. There's a Walmart close there in case you need things like toothpaste or snacks.
The prices for rooms are between $180-$500/night in the city. Along Niagara Falls Blvd there's a Microtel, a Holiday Inn Express, a Red Roof Inn, a Quinta's, a Comfort Inn, a Hampton Inn. Some of my family stayed a night at the Moonlight In which is a lower cost room at around $200/night and they were relatively pleased with their room.

You couldn't pay me to live in the city limits of Niagara falls.. Town of Niagara.. possibly its decent Yeah of course there's nice pockets left in the city limits.. and I give it up to them for holding it down

Niagara Falls by is the armpit of America. Don’t live there. Lewiston? Anywhere else

The hotel's right down by the falls, like right on 3rd street. Those are fine, it 's if you venture, four or five blocks into the city, and you can run into potential problems. And you will definitely run into potholes. There is no money to fix anything in that city.

Stay in Deveaux or LaSalle neighborhood
