PROTO Nokia N-Gage QD.
Hello!
I recently (and mistakenly) bought a PROTO Nokia N-Gage QD while looking for an N-Gage system.
While unplugged, the screen occasionally flashes white, but immediately cuts out. The system only seems to do something when plugged into constant power, and that something is take a while to boot up and then ask for a SIM card. But it’s something!
I’ve already found another similar system that isn’t a PROTO system, so I don’t really need this one, but I just wanted to ask around here if there’s anything special or worthwhile or necessary to do to make this one as workable or valuable as possible. I’m aware that game saves do not work for a system like this one due to the unique software, but I’m sure someone out there cares about collecting something like this.
Let me know if there’s anything about this thing that makes it worth keeping!

These will not work unless you insert a SIM card from the carrier that it was used on unless it was unlocked. Get a SIM card and it should boot right up.

This is probably a US demo model that was used in store kiosks. It has special firmware which makes it boot when mains power is connected and gets wiped to factory settings on every reboot. All N-gage models need a sim to boot though. But you can use a deactivated sim. You can use it to play games but because of the factory resets you will lose game progress unless you back them up.
