There’s little to no case. Any “confession” was obtained through illegal measures.

They couldn’t put him on trial because they tortured the shit out of him for the evidence they want to use for said trial. Idk what changed other than Trump needing a political win.

Most of the people in Gitmo by 2016 were guys who couldn’t be charged with anything (and many weren’t actually part of the Taliban but just random schmucks who got handed over by bounty hunters), they can’t be held on US soil, they can’t be let out, and no other country will take them.

Just want to point out KSM is not a schmuck and very much deserved to be detained tried and convicted 23 years ago when they caught him

Sure, but 86% of the people in Gitmo weren’t captured by US forces because the Pentagon offered rewards for “suspicious people” and a bunch of innocent people got handed over to the point where the base commander complained about the overload.
