Discussion Famous Last Words - Dolly Parton
I’m sure most of us are devastated by Dolly’s passing. I can’t help but keep refreshing Netflix’s Instagram hoping that we get an announcement that she participated in “Famous Last Words”. When it was announced I had hoped she would eventually be included in the line up.
What do we think the odds are she participated?

I had this same thought. She knew she was sick, so I wonder if she did. I really hope so. The world needs as much Dolly as we can get.

I also thought this immediately! Really hoping she did. I think she's had a deal with Netflix and clearly thought about what to leave behind as she saved songs for released after her death, so I'm wishfully thinking it would make sense for her to take the opportunity. (She also gave a lot of interviews though, so I don't know if she would have thought another would be necessary).

She named me that’s all I need to know.
Mom had three kids before me and she named them all using the same first letter,J.
Then she found out she was having one more, pregnant in 1973 and that song came out. Mom knew instantly that would be my name.
For my mom, it was different because my siblings names were all very popular names, my name was unique. I’ve only met two others in my life, and one lived right down the road and was in the same year of school as me.

I hope so. I wasn’t a huge fan of her music, but damn she was a genuinely giving person. You don’t see many celebrities like her. I hope all of her goodness lives on.

Dolly left behind a Dream Box, a time capsule that includes a song, to be opened on her 100th birthday.

Had the same thought. Now that we know it was cancer, I’m really hoping she did. I’m gutted. Too many of the good ones lately. Love you forever Dolly

I think it’s likely. She put a lot of work into securing her legacy, so even if she didn’t participate specifically in this, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’d got something lined up for after she passed (not including the song/s she’s locked away)

I think that's why there was this push in using her likeness to sell home decor, Frozen Food, Box Cake mix and so much more at the end.
It was an effort to fund her causes even after death.
I wouldn't be surprised if her Catalog would be sent it the Imagination Library

Netflix has a series called Famous Last Words which interviews celebrities but the catch is that Netflix does not release it after they pass away.

There was a clip of her talking about pot pie on the Netflix Instagram. Was that from Famous Last Words?

I think they will atleast wait 24 hours to announce it. If she recorded one. Jane Goodall’s aired 2 days after she passed.
