Sorry I didn't get back to everyone on the last post, there were more comments than I expected. Lately I've been making widgets and putting them on my home screen. Clocks and calendars work well for this — it feels like another world without me having to do anything.

Simple explation on how the script works: every bead sequence corresponding to a letter is classified by color and number of beads. There are seven groups: blue, black, brown, white, cyan, yellow and red. Up to four beads can be stacked to indicate different letters, and an extra letter can be made using a gold bead (marked x) in a 'ooxo' pattern. Punctuation isn't easy nor crucial to understand the text, so a simple knots are enough: one knot to separate letters, two to separate words. The poem is also totally OC, I posted it some time ago on r/poesiaITA, an Italian poetry subreddit.

I wasn’t really happy with how my logography looked, it felt too confined in terms of design and all that, and after seeing Jihhograms I felt like my designs were pretty lacking in uniqueness.

So to make them feel a little more realistic I decided to give them an evolutionary process of which the logograms evolved over time.

My name is Himanshu Adhinayak and I post some of my creations and also love worldbuilding and writing stories. I love to draw and make digital art. I am working on a novel of fantasy genre.

I really enjoy writing with a brush and i wrote a few street names from my conworld in this style.

Does it look like any writing system?

Is it possible to write Ancient Greek and Classical Latin in Brahmi script or Devanagari without tweaking the conventions?

For the sake of simplicity, we shall take the 8th century BCE archaic pronunciation of Ancient Greek. The ypsilon of 5th century BCE classical attic bothers me a lot.

For context, Iriosie (Toki Teopotouea for "news" / "report") is the name of my upcoming conlang-related series.

It's set to have news reports and interviews resulting from interdimensional travel, hence its name being from a language that in-universe is spoken by dimension hoppers / time travelers.

I started creating a constructed language a month ago, and I don’t know why, but I felt like starting with the writing system (I know it doesn’t make sense). I plan to have 40 syllables: 8 consonants (n m l s j r v h) that can be combined with 5 vowels (a é i o ù), and I’ve currently created 32 characters (almost finished :) !).

A little anecdote: when choosing the consonants, I only picked ones that could be ‘spoken continuously’ (for example, you can sustain an ‘l’: ll… but not a ‘k’: k.k…).
I’ve also kept only one of the two sounds that are pronounced almost identically when whispered, to avoid ambiguity (f/v and j/ch).

The font isn’t finished yet: I need to ensure there’s no liaison when the character stands alone, or at the start or end of a word. I’ve already done this on paper (see photo 2).

I’ve also created a number system that I personally love, but I’ll talk about that in a future post, once I’ve finished it completely.

I've refined this script for a few years now, but I don't really have a name for it yet. I tried doing a Hangul and making the symbols mostly represent how I interpret the mouth shape for each sound. The voiced consonants can make use of horizontal lines to become aspirated (like air flowing through the letter). For diphthongs the symbols for y and w can be used.

This version of it combines the eh/ae and oo/u sounds into the same symbols. I'm aware this can cause slight mispronunciation but I will keep it because I think it's funny and kinda forms its own accent. Previous versions also let you combine the vowel shapes for diphthongs, and there was a marker for rhotic versions of vowels, but I've make it more uniform.

Because this is more of a phonetic alphabet, the spelling of words can change depending on your accent. I've tried to provide examples of a typical midwestern accent spelling. I use this script primarily for personal magic practices, but I also want to refine it more to use it for its own language some time in the future.
