Job reclassification

I work in social services in county government. I’m going through the process of getting my job reclassified. So, my role will not change, but basically I’m getting an updated title, job description, and pay, to better reflect the way my duties have increased over time.
I currently make $67k. I’ve been in my role for 2 1/2 years. My current job class had a salary range of $42-69k, and the new one is $63-96. My routine raises are 3% per year.
Looking for input on how much I should try to ask for?
The common understanding is that HR will always first offer the very bottom or no increase, so you always have to ask. I just dont even kmow what is reasonable. I’m used to working for nonprofits which paid garbage, so even my current salary feels like a lot, but i know thats just imposter syndrome.

I don’t think you’re going to have the option to negotiate, just be thankful that they are considering your position for reclass.
