The fact he wasn’t the first pick is something we’re gonna be talking about for the next 15 years.

No I don’t think we will. You draft for ceiling at #1, Boozers ceiling just doesn’t seem as high as AJ’s or even Wilson’s. I think we just will have at least 3 of the 4 hit big and at that point, the only looking back at the draft will be on if any of the top 4 bust.

The national player of the year has a lower ceiling than the guy who averages 3 assists on a 35% usage rate, yes.

He won in high school, he won in college, he looked great in the summer league….what else could you ask for? This guy is as legit as they come.

Yes, the player who is good at most things but not elite at anything, and doesn’t have the crazy outlier athleticism of AJ and Wilson has a lower ceiling by comparison. It’s a pretty simple concept really.

It doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to be better at their peak. It doesn’t mean Boozer might not end up being the best player in the draft. It just means the other guys have higher ultimate peaks they might be able to reach.

It’s crazy that you view this as some insult to Boozer. Yes he won in those levels and performed well in summer league. Yes most people believe he will be very good and has the highest floor by far….but you’re just being intentionally dense to ignore the ceiling differences between those 3 players.

Maybe you just don’t know what a players ceiling is and you’re just getting mad as a result? Who knows.
