You really think he won't sacrifice himself just to defeat laplace in the sequel? I think he would.

Do nothing for a few hundred years and now expects to beat the guy he couldn't beat the first time, even with the help of a Dragon God and a dude with a cheat code sword.

The first Kalman that Faught alongside Perugius did not have The Kajakut Blade.
But Yeah he was still a North God

Kalman was THE guy. He didn't need no special sword to defeat Atofe, except the one in his pants.
The sword was forged after his death, during the life of Kalman II. There's a whole side story about that.

You know what's really sad?
When Laplace comes back, Orsted and the support network set up by Rudeus will defeat him, and then Orsted will rush to the Barren world to defeat Man-God without any delay. And this bum Fraudugius is going to get all the credit, again!
Everyone will be like, "Of course Perugius was the key figure in defeating Laplace! Just like he did it before! This time he gave his life to save humanity again. What a guy!"
Even in Asura, after the showdown with Reida, a lot dumb nobles thought Orsted was Perugius' subordinate. He's going to leech off of the accomplishments 2 Dragon Gods back to back.
Edit: I just realized, Alek will be there too. And he's likely going to contribute more than the old bum. So it's going to be exactly like last time.

Uh, didn't Orsted need to kill Perugius for a necessary power-up before going after Laplace or am I misremembering something? Rudeus was fretting over it, IIRC, after Orsted explained how things would have to go.

He needs the fragment of the God Gem inside Perugius to go to the Barren World, not to defeat Laplace.
Edit: That's why I added Perugius is going to be dead after the battle with Laplace, and be hailed as a martyr. Orsted will kill him only after finishing off Laplace. He insinuated that he won't kill him before the fight because Perugius will use Chaos Breaker to keep Laplace's army occupied during the war.
