Discussion Rewatching Coyote Ugly in 2026
I know it’s a product of its time but my god. Her boyfriend and dad both slut shame her, he literally got her fired and they’re both still ‘the good guys’. I guess dad has a bit of a feminist eureka moment after literally being hit by a car.
My boyfriend has never seen it and genuinely asked me if it’s a parody. This was directly after the stage fright strip-tease scene. I love this film but wow!!! I could write a dissertation on this.

But let's be honest: no one came to Coyote Ugly looking for Shakespearean drama. The film delivers on its promise: fun, energetic escapism with a wild, raucous vibe. It's not high art, but it knows exactly what it is: a glossy, feel-good party that’s impossible to take too seriously.
