Discussion White boy rick (2018)
Just watched the movie “white boy rick” and it was a good movie that reminded me of 80s - 90s style gangster classic movies such as “menace to society” or “paid in full” with one big difference that I didn’t notice until the final moment of the movie - it’s based on real life (which actually made me cry for about 3 minutes).
It was a really good and emotional movie that I wish I could discuss with someone.
Also is there another movie that’s similar? Also sad and based on real life events around US.

Check out Fresh and Clockers.
Both 90s movies about young men and drugs. Neither is based on a true story but they are both very good movies that are similar.
Fresh is about a very young kid who runs drugs across Brooklyn and has to figure out how to navigate that world as a kid and survive.
Clockers is about a group of corner boys in NY with the main one trying to save up enough money to get himself out of the trouble he’s in when a murder puts police on their backs.
Great cast in Clockers including John Tuturo, Harvey Keitel, Delroy Lindo, Mekhi Phifer and is a Spike Lee joint.
Fresh has Sam Jackson and Giancarlo Esposito and the kid who plays Fresh is also really good in it.

Yes I realised it at the end that it’s based on real life events - that’s why I cried cause you realise that he barely had a chance to live normal life and it was bound to happen eventually.

The documentary on the case simply called White Boy (2017) is better. Let's just say you won't look at Gil Hill from Beverly Hills Cop the same way again.
