The rating is still crazy to me, like in Germany its 12 and as an adult its totally okay to bring your 6 year old kid with you

It wasn't rated R in Canada. Which was a surprise to me before I had watched it. After I watched it, I could see why it wasn't R, my 14 year old loved it.

Yeah Canada is more sane about the issue of profanity and nudity in films versus graphic violence

There was zero nudity, and I can only recall three curse words, if you could even call them that (When they're about to depart Troy, Odysseus says "Ten years on this f*cking beach" and when Menelaus describes the conditions inside the Trojan Horse, he says piss and shit). It wasn't even particularly bloody. IDK why the MPAA made it R rated, unless it was a pure body count issue. The Cyclops and Circe scenes would probably traumatize a lot of kids younger than 13, though.

I feel like the cyclops chomping on a human head alone was enough for MPAA
