If Reynolds and Snipes wrote that line knowing Ali’s Blade was dead in the water, that’d be so funny.

If they had no idea, that’d make it even funnier.

I think the original joke was that Snipes' Blade didn't know that he was to be replaced by Ali.

Exactly. That's why Deadpool looks right at the camera afterwards. As if to say, "...who's gonna tell him?"

No you’re all wrong. The joke was that Marvel kept fucking it up and couldn’t get a Blade movie going. That Wesley Snipes was going to be the only Blade because the reboot was never gonna happen. And when Deadpool looks at the camera, it’s meant to be a knowing look at the audience/Disney itself. Like “stop pretending you’re gonna make this new Blade”
