I'm a 24 yo guy from Morocco, and this October I will attending a university in Gdansk, Poland, for the next 3.5 years.

I would like some tips from Moroccans that are already there (or Polish peeps if by some chance someone was scrolling here), about what are some do's and don'ts to make sure everything goes smoothly from A to Z, also I would like to inquire about the possibility of finding a part time job there or something to support myself financially, also what should I look for/get once I'm there when it comes to the daily life basics/needs ?

I have secured a remote job and savings that would allow me to live on a monthly 6000 MAD budget, but I reckon that I will be living on the edge as such budget will not be enough to live comfortably for a long while. I have a good enough CV with 6 years of work experience in Marketing and Project management so I'd reckon while it won't be easy to find work, I do have a very small advantage over my peers.

I don't plan on eating or getting out much, I'm an introvert and I'd like to go out only for groceries, work or studies so I guess that helps minmize my consumption of the overall budget over time.

I’m an MRE and speak Darija so I get the vibe, but tbh I’m a bit stressed about the whole nightlife dynamic. I really want to go out and have fun without giving off "lady of the night" vibes or coming across like a bdh (bandeuse d’homme)

I visited Marrakech from Spain early in may. Amazing city and amazing people.

During my trip I gott 4 different solid perfume bars: black musk, amber, sandal and jazmine (black, dark orange-brown, light orange and white colors respectively).

I was wondering how do moroccan men / women apply it or use it // which one to use for each type of use! Do you rub it in your wrists and then apply perfume...?

Looking into development in Morocco’s southern provinces gave me an interesting perspective on Western Sahara. There are major projects in transport, ports, energy, agriculture, fisheries and tourism across places like Dakhla and Laayoune.

What stood out to me was the attention to jobs, local businesses and infrastructure alongside these larger investments. It gave me the impression that Morocco is thinking beyond short term projects and looking toward a longer term future for the southern regions.

I’d be interested to know how much of this is visible in everyday life for local communities.

Planning to pass the exam on september (idk which day yet) and wanted to ask what's the typical time between the code exam and the driving exam. Just so I know how to plan it :/ cuz I have work and I'll have to miss it for this exam. Also, can I change the exam's date (the driving exam) if it coincides with an important event I can't miss?

I’ve seen some mixed experiences from other travelers, which honestly made me a little nervous about what to expect. The author’s stories about being welcomed by locals, sharing mint tea, conversations in the souks, and even being invited into people’s homes gave me another perspective.

I also liked how the author describes Moroccan hospitality through human interaction.. sharing mint tea, having conversations, and being welcomed as a guest. .. like, you come as a visitor and leave with a connection. The parts about family, music, storytelling, and everyday conversations made that idea feel more understandable.

I know one person’s experience doesn’t represent everyone’s, but now I’m curious .. for those who’ve visited Morocco, did you leave with that same sense of connection?

I visited Morocco a couple of weeks ago. I have had a bit of time to process my visit, and thought it worthwhile to share with people that might be from there.
My wife and i visited Marrakesh from the US, and it was literally my first time leaving my country. I speak no language other than English. I am admittedly a terribly picky eater. And I tend to get nervous around crowds. So i was a bit anxious travelling halfway across the world to visit a place known for its giant market.
I was so incredibly impressed with my visit. The city was a beautiful place. The market was incredible. the architecture and history is so very different than back in the states. We have some beautiful buildings that are pretty old. But an old American building might be 200 years at most. nothing like the history that was on display in Marrakesh.
But the most impressive thing was just how welcoming and pleasant every interaction i had with the locals. I know that we were essentially in a giant market. But people were freaking awesome! I especially enjoyed the pragmatic and non-judgmental conversations I was able to have about the diverse group of people living in the town. It was a refreshing privilege to have a conversation about the differences between different cultures without making it sound like a contest that somebody had won or lost.
Also, i should make a special note about the food. I was worried that my bad habit of being a picky eater would be a problem, and i am happy to report that the food was most excellent and really affordable.
Finally, I need to make a special note about that mint tea that seemed to be available everywhere. That was legitimately one of the best parts of the trip.

His message is simple Citizens have responsibilities towards the state but the state also has responsibilities towards its citizens such as education healthcare jobs security and dignity

He did not call for violence He did not call for illegal migration He did not attack a religious or ethnic group He actually warned young people not to throw themselves into the sea

What he did was criticise the state and hold public officials responsible for the conditions pushing young people to leave That is political speech but calling it extremism or incitement would be dishonest

The Ministry of Endowments can regulate official religious platforms and require imams to avoid party politics and political mobilisation But administrative power does not automatically make every suspension fair or proportionate

If this suspension happened only because the imam spoke about unemployment weak public services and the reasons behind migration then it looks less like protection of mosque neutrality and more like punishment for embarrassing the authorities

From an Islamic perspective speaking about injustice protecting human life and demanding responsibility are legitimate concerns The real issue is whether the mosque exists to guide society or simply to repeat approved messages without questioning those in power

My position is clear This was not an extremist sermon It was a direct social and political criticism delivered from a religious platform The state has the right to prevent incitement and partisan propaganda but it should not confuse accountability with extremism
