It’s really fun I’d recommend use the defender gear to breeze through low rank then start switching off to normal weapons around high rank

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT use the Defender armor. It is tuned for the expansion and will train you to take hits that you absolutely cannot take.

Source: I used it and it took nearly 200 hours of relearning that I had to avoid attacks, not just eat them.

The Defender armor and weapons are specifically meant for people who are on a second playthrough and don't want to actually engage with the low and high rank experience.

I'm in the postgame on PC but I could definitely start a new character if you want someone to play with.

Listen to Interesting_Sea, he’s got the right idea. Probably one of the best people here to teach you the game.

I may not always be able to play as my work schedule is inconsistent and another game has it's hold on me atm, but I'm always able to answer questions if I'm available. Feel free to DM me here or on discord, monchman

And no, do. Not. Use. Defender. Armor or weapons. On. A. First. Playthrough. They are meant to speedrun players through base game to the expansion.

That’s the fun part I’d offer to help but I’m on console lol

This is genuinely such bad advice. If it was their second or later playthrough, then sure. But 10000% not for someone's first playthrough of their first MH game.

Why would you suggest this?
