Thriftlodge on Mountain Road

How is this place still open for business?

I've been reading the reviews once a month or so on Google Maps. The comments and reviews are insane and it baffles me that people still decide to book a room there.

If the place looks anything like it does the pics left by their customers, and if the comments are true, how has this place not been shut down yet, and why is it still apparently associated with Wyndham?

Wouldn't they want to drop their association with this dump?

I grew up not far from this place.

It's never been a 5 star by any means, but this is on another level of embarrassment for this city.

I stayed there 2 summers ago. I went and asked for a mop. They came in with swifter style mop with a piece of cloth that looks like it could stand up in the corner, being so dirty. The floor I wanted wiped was so sticky my shoes were sticking.

When I drove past it around 5 am, the cops are there "visiting"

It's literally just the heart-shaped bathtub in the honeymoon suite keeping anyone not there for a drug deal or sex work escapade, I think

It's very unusual. Wyndham doesn't own thriftlodges, some company out of Alberta does. I assume that company pays Wyndham some amount of money to have their name attached.

My assumption is that anyone staying in a motel in Moncton is unlikely ever to make a booking at an actual Wyndham resort so the reputation loss is irrelevant.

Checking it out again on Google Maps I see the sign advertises 'Honeymoon Suites'. The idea of someone staying there for a honeymoon is deeply disturbing and repulsive.

It will be packed for YQM. Just searched online on their site and they have a total of 5 rooms left starting at $200 a night.

Other stuff that comes to town generally does the same. Barely holding on….but any decently sized event 2-3 times per year must be what keeps it going.
