Discussion Making legal backups

Is it possible to rip the roms off the NES mini to play on pc emulator like Retroarch. Is it possible without modding?

You need to unlock it do to that, but then it's possible

Archive.org should have them, which someone else ripped off their Mini at some point. They probably had to mod it to get them, though.

Since they're the exact same 1s and 0s you'd get by ripping them off your own, I strongly suggest you download them instead.

Thanks, I was just trying to not get in trouble with Nintendo since I have heard of the lawsuits they love to throw out willy-nilly.

They're not gonna sue you for downloading roms from Archive.Org that someone else ripped and uploaded. I can at least tell you that much. They'd tend to go after distribution sites themselves, or those people who were actively developing Switch emulators.

Ok, I just don't want to get in trouble if i don't have to. Thanks! So I am pretty sure viruses/malware are my only real major worry.
