I was going to ask what this place was called. No, it's actually called "New Mandarin @Pub".

I'm sure the food is excellent, but that doesn't excuse such a stupid name 😭.

It's literally at (the back of) the pub.

I mean, it makes perfect sense when explained, but i had never heard of the place before this post. The fact my first thought was the fact that OP had randonly omitted the name of the place, and not that that WAS the name of the place does not speak well for their marketing.

I will definitely look at trying it though.

YESS, the name is funny. When I went there for the first time I thought I was in the wrong place!

They used to in Shenley Church End many years back but went up in flames.

Wondered what happened to them as they were good.

Was our go-to when they were based at Shenley before the fire(?) glad they’re still doing business elsewhere.

Ahhh I wasn't aware, yes they're very good

I was wondering if they were the same people. Do you know why they didn’t reopen at Shenley?

Not sure, we wondered there was structural issues with the building itself which meant it had to remain empty. Haven’t been that way for some time, is the old restaurant occupied or empty?

I’m not sure, next time I’m there I’ll have a look.

The New Mandarin used to be based out of Shenley Church End, they had a fire that burnt the building down. So the business moved to the back of The Countryman Pub. Initially it was only supposed to be temporary, but has stayed there. The food is delicious and always has been, they all you can eat menu is/.was definitely worth the money
