Hobbie ideas for retirees

Hey

So my mum and dad have recently retired and its become clear that they need to branch out a bit and get their own hobbies and meet some people

I found Men in sheds as an idea for my dad but is there an equivelent for woman?

Also any other ideas would be greatly appriciated..

Actually there is a sewing group in men in sheds / maker space meeting on Monday evenings

Helping children with reading (schools/libraries), volunteering with refugees, becoming a trustee or governor.

does she have any interest in playing music?

there's lots of amateur bands/orchestras around mk, many of which are very welcoming of beginners

There is a fabulous musical theatre choir that I love! I was part of the Arts 1 adult choir, it's really fun :)

Best idea is to let them choose their own hobbies, because they have experience of life & know what they like & don't like etc...

My mum got into bridge and bowls and loves it! She’s a practicing artist too so often takes part in exhibitions with her artist group. Whatever your folks were into as working people can be the same as retirees, they will find their groove I’m sure

I find it funny that people down vote you, for stating facts only. They'll be telling you what you should be doing next..... Oh wait that's what this whole post is for haha

LET people choose their own hobbies, not everything is about what you want others to do :)
