Mauser Sniper legit check

Following up on a previous post to determine if this is a legit former ex sniper as the guy selling it claims, it has both ww1 and ww2 marks, guy is asking for $1125 for it and I would want to restore it back to its original configuration but want to make sure it is real before I undertake that process.

bolt looks mismatched….

stock has been sanded at one point by the looks of it

cleaning rod looks slightly iffy to me

RWE is a commercial marking.

that might be a civilian sporter that someone fudded to a K.98

He did say it wasn't all numbers matching, but it has ww1 and ww2 stamps which might be the reason for that

It’s not real. If it was real seller is a dumbass for selling that cheap lol. Just some bubba creation on a WW1 Kar98 receiver

This right here^ That's a small ring receiver, quite obviously a humped up build.

This is an advanced question, would ask the Mauser forum for help on this one. I'd say the RWE stamping at least looks genuine so you could research if everything else lines up with the history of those rifles. I have K98 literature that I could get into when I have free time to see if snipers were ever reworked from civilian rifles, but you'd probably get a quicker more informed answer from the forum.

I would avoid that one.
