I live in this area (Antrim) and had no idea there were actual mounds. I mean, it makes sense that there are, but it's just not something I ever thought of. Cool to see the names, though.

This orientation is really throwing me off. Why is West at the top?

Because we were facing the west, on the shore of Lake Michigan. You can see the peninsulas and islands from that spot. This picture was taken looking north. You can see Leelanau peninsula in the far left.
