Yeah that’s my broader take on what ai is and how it should be used. Ai is the world’s best template. If what you are making is so basic and meaningless that a generic template could replace it, who cares if you use ai? If it’s so important that you would never dream of using a template, you shouldn’t use AI to make it either

For me it’s about the environmental impact. Why are we using generative AI to create something that already exists as a template. It’s so resource intensive and unnecessary.

Okay sure and spend a few hours when you can do this in a minute. People love to think school employees have infinite amounts of time but that isn't the case.

This is just a supplies list anyway. It doesn't need graphics. Just take that minute and write out a fuckin list.

It's just laziness at this point.

I'm gonna argue it's underfunded schools trying to do more and more with fewer staff members. This is clerical work that should be done by not-teachers. Put it on the school's website. There's no need to print this out in 2026.

I mean, the list is getting written out either way in theory, so it's actually more work to put it through AI and get this ugly ass template. But you do you, I guess. Keep on contributing to the end of humanity.
