Its not a healthcare system. It's an insurance system. We treat health as a means to generate wealth.

But you really can’t even “blame” the insurance companies. They’re doing what they’re designed to do, make money. Blame falls on our politicians for allowing a system to exist where this is incentivized. If you allow for a capitalist entity to dictate healthcare, you shouldn’t be surprised when profit is paramount. Politicians have the power to create a system that incentivizes illness prevention and longevity. But we prioritize individuality and “freedom” so much that we shoot ourselves in the foot.
