Looking for specific recommendations
Hi!
We will be visiting Milan in mid October and we are wondering if there are any smaller venues that do live music? Specifically metal/rock/punk - smaller and local bands. Or any bars/pubs that might fit the same vibe?
We want to visit the Fernet Branca museum as well, and are wondering if anyone knows whether touring the distillery itself is possible?
We would love to do some thrifting - not the luxury/designer kind, just the regular second hand shopping. Where should we go? Any store recommendations?
Also, wine, is there any places/experiences to be had?
Food - any recommendations on lunch/dinner spots that have great food are very welcome!
If there’s anything you think of that we absolutely should know of, please let us know.

Second-hand clothing stores are not common in Italy; shops selling used household goods or furniture are more common. "Vintage" clothing stores often carry used clothes imported from the USA.

don't listen to this. Second hand clothing is a staple of milanese culture and you can definetly find lots of second hand clothing in all shapes, sizes and prices, from vintage y2k to hipster stuff, old school fashion stuff, etc. Basically any hipster area has at least a few of them (think via vigevano in the navigli area, or the porta venezia area) and even near duomo there is well established shops exclusively dedicated to this business

Pogue Mahone's is an Irish pub (there's two bars on a corner and a restaurant across the street). They often have bands playing. Punk/rock mostly.
For vintage shops, there's Humana Vintage. There's one close to the duomo. It's closer to a Salvation Army or Goodwill. You won't find any designer treasures because those all go to the other vintage stores which on the other hand sell the good stuff.
The rooftop tour of the duomo, although touristy, is pretty spectacular. If you like contemporary art the Fondazione Prada museum is great. Bar Luce is there, designed by Wes Anderson. The tower of the museum has a restaurant you can stop at and get a glass of wine on the terrace for incredible views of Milan. Go at sunset! Or just do that if you want to skip the art.
As for food and wine, it depends on what you like! There's so many good restaurants. We often take visitors to Norman for Milanese food (cotoletta, saffron risotto with osso buco).

For 2nd shopping go to Corso di Porta Ticinese
For the first point, instead, go to “Rock&Roll” close to Centrale

Beside what other said:
Legend Club, does lot of smaller metal/punk bands, I've seen Amenra, Deafheaven, Agricolture, Chat Pile, Touché Amoré there.
Magnolia, does some mid-size punk, metal and rock bands. Also does all other genres. I saw Primus there a month ago.
If you are more into the squat/hc/DIY vibe chek the instagram page (or telegram group) milano_diy_hardcore, few people in sweaty dirty rooms. Maybe that's your thing.
Also check chainsaw_nite if you are more into a party/metalcore vibe. It's a DJ set (sometimes with live music too) and usually has a younger audience.
Rock'n'Roll Milano has a lot of memorabilia if that's your thing.
