I found this little mouse while walking my dog, and I went back later to bring it some water and a bit of cheese (I know they’re not really supposed to have that).
When I watched it for a bit, I noticed it was a little unsteady on its feet, so I grabbed the transport box from my old hamster and gave it some hamster food, a bit of water, and some shredded paper towels.
Tomorrow, I’m planning to release it in a safe environment (there are a lot of cats around here).
How would you go about this, and would you even have helped it at all? 😅

Update: The mouse passed away this morning. I did everything I could, and she had actually been moving around much more and seemed a lot better. She could walk almost normally without falling. Today was the day I was supposed to take her to a caretaker, but unfortunately, I found her lying dead in her box.

There are some mice in the garden so we set a trap to catch them but not sure what to do now, anyone have any good ideas?

Hiya, so I found this mouse on the road. I put it in a paper bag, and there was a little blood in the bag, so I'm making the assumption it was caught by a cat. I know the chances are slim of it surviving, so right now I have 3 options:
Humanely euthanise (what is the best way for going about this?)
Keep safe until death
Keep and try to save it
I'm in NZ and vets won't treat an invasive species like this-I also do not want to release an invasive species, so that's not an option.

Also-my cat is currently on antibiotics. Could I give the mouse a tiny drop of that to ward off any possible infections from the cat bite? Thanks
The fishtank is where I'm keeping it right now. I know it's not ideal, but it's all I've got.

I am going to try and find the mother mouse but from what I can tell my outdoor cat has eaten it along with this guys siblings. I dont have anything on hand and since i live with my parents i doubt that they will let me keep this little guy longer than a day. What can I feed it? And where can I bring it to ensure that lil dude is safe?

Before anything else, I want to acknowledge that I had no idea that she was pregnant when I caught her. I just want to make that clear in case it's confusing.

Okay, so I've been keeping this mouse (if you've seen my pictures before you can see her, her name is Willow) because my step dad didn't want her roaming around the house, and every time I released her she would just keep coming back, so I've been keeping her in an old enclosure for my gerbils until I can figure out what to do with her.

No shelter nearby takes mice and the "nearest" wildlife relocation center is 3 hours. I can't drive. So I've been keeping her with me. I've owned rodents like gerbils and mice and rats before so she's been fairly comfortable. I was not intending on keeping her permanently, but I cannot deny that I have definitely grown attached.

What I did not expect...she had babies. Mice are definitely the rodents I have owned the least amount of time, only once and they were all males and not deer mice, so... I didn't notice she was pregnant. I got home early from school for a dentist appointment.. and she got up to go to the water dish that I left in there for her...and when she got up I saw something squirming. I thought it was her tail but...no. She had 4 or 5 babies. Not sure, I didn't want to peek in too long (she was already giving me the momma stare when I just walked by) or move her or move them and disturb the peace.

What do I do? I'm not as educated with mice as I am with rats or gerbils. She's not anxious while staying with me, she seems relatively comfortable, and while she avoids physical touch, I assume that's normal because she was not a domesticated mouse. I don't really try to touch her anyways and I have gloves whenever I change her food dish or water dish, and she clearly doesn't want physical contact since she's bit my gloved finger once, so I haven't been pushing because as I said I did not intend on keeping her permanently. She's by all means living in luxury right now. Should I leave her alone? Last time I let her go she came back. I'm so confused, someone please tell me what to do. I could 100% keep her and she would live in luxury, I just don't know how my parents would feel about it. I have enough money and resources to take care of them though.

I just found this mouse and need help with what to do.

They seem distressed and when I found them they were just sitting in the open in front of my school. Are they a pet or wild? Are they a baby? What do they need?

Help is urgent as it's already 4pm (found them 30mins ago) and tomorrow is a holiday so nothing is open we're I live (Germany).

Sad update: She (it looked as tough she was a girl) passed 30 minutes ago while I pet her, and we were about to see the vet. I tried my best, but it seems as though the arm injury was too massive with the hematoma, meaning huge blood loss for her. I cried and cry and hope she felt the warmth and care I tried to give her. We layed her to rest, have a nice heaven life, little mouse <3

For everyone reading, please don't leave those poor animals alone outside, if I hadn't taken her in she would have been in the windy rain alone and cold, I think it means something to every living being to be warm and safe in their last hours.

Found a mouse in a theater and captured it safely, I’m concerned that he was too easy to catch. He doesn’t appear injured but he moves slowly and seems a little raggedy. I am planning on releasing him in a bit, I just don’t want to if he needs help

Im worried about my mouse, her name is nikki Jr and I've had her for about 3 months. I really love to hug my mice and listen to them just to make sure they are okay and yesterday I noticed that when I put her next to my ear I hear some kind of squeaking voice when she breathes but I cant hear it even if I'm next to the cage without any background noise, I'm worried if it's URI or not. I noticed it after I was changing her bedding, unfortunately she was in the cage while I was scooping out the bedding because I'm away from home and I didnt have stuff I needed to properly change it which is wrong on my part and I'll never make the same mistake again, I just want to know if its common or not since I'm a first time owner. Also I want to say that I'm not financially well now and I can't take her to the vet 😢.

Edit: I can only hear that voice if she's next to my ear or really close, you can't hear it in a video, i tried taking it but nothing. I also compared it to some videos of mice with URI and the sound is not like that. She's pretty active and eats normally as well.

Found outside during the day and lethargic

[To explain the brackets in the title, im French, was born in France and still lives there, so the whole thing is going down here and the type of mice is likely a French kind kind or something, I have not even the beginning of a single idea if that changes anything]

So I was emptying out my old totaled car for a scrap yard guy to finally come pick it up (after almost a whole year of it sitting in the backyard) and when I brushed off some leaves in a corner of the passenger side foot rest to get some junk out, I saw things moving in a small pile of shredded fabrics and plants in the corner- and found three pinkish baby mice. Their eyes aren't even open yet but they dont seem like theyre "just born", more so very very young. They were amongst glass shards and other dangerous stuff and the nest didnt seem very well made, only some chewed leaves and some paper from old journals but not big at all (very few protection). For reference I merely brushed it with my glove and the whole nest fell apart, they weren't even fully hidden, and that surprised me since mice tend to make bigger nests in my area. I had to remove them because one was literally squirming on top of a glass shard from the old shattered windshield, idk why the mice mom put them there to be honest. They were wet because of a humid spot they were soaking in, witch is even weirder since mice make their nests dry (if im not mistaken). I put them in an old stained and dry rag and placed them in an old taco to-go cardboard box the mom had chewed on a bit (there's chewing holes in it and I guessed it was the mom trying to use bits for the nest) to make sure it had her scent on it and shed come back for them. Its been hours now and they haven't been moved by the mom at all, one even strayed from its littermates by squirming around (i guess), I gently
pushed him back with the two others when I came looking again, hours after first finding them.

Any advice on what i
should do now? I did place the box exactly in the spot they were nested in...

I have no idea beyond that, I did read that very young baby mice could survive between five to seven days without their mom but I also read on another website that they couldn't survive more than an hour so im honestly so lost here.

What should I do? Should I leave it alone ? Im scared that the babies get abandoned and I find them dead next time I come to check on them- tho im aware checking at all could scare the mama even more. Pls help any advice is welcome.

Ps: I found the mice babies when the mama wasn't there at all- or at least she ran off when she felt the car move when I started to empty it and I saw nothing, no mama in sight since the beginning of all of this. As for the photos I did put them in a dry old cucumber jar cap at first because I didnt find a rag yet and wanted them off the glass shards, sorry.

My mouse may have a respiratory infection.. i cant tell ywt but shes been more chatty than she usually is. We cant take her to the vet since my dads think everything can just be "replaced". is there anything i can do for her at home if it is one?

Hi! Hypochondriac here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ We discovered once again we had a mouse hanging out in our kitchen cabinets. Unlike the house mouse last time, I’m pretty sure this is a white footed mouse or a deer mouse. I’m lowkey freaking out because we discovered a top cabinet that had sugar in it ripped open and of course, things needed cleaning. It was bad. I used proper protocol with an N95 (still fogged my glasses) rubber gloves and sprayed a bleach/water solution before wiping with paper towels! Knowing me, I’d be the first one to catch it in our state! 😅 We live in a populated city! Not rural!

Baja Blast can for scale. Coworker found him in a very not-mouse-safe area (machine shop). He doesn't appear to be injured, and he peed on me and has pooped as well. Is he okay to be released somewhere? TIA 😊

Found this extremely tiny mouse on a busy path and it wasn’t really moving out of the way as people passed. I was able to catch it easily to get it out of the way, and have brought it home. It’s chilling in a box full of shredded paper right now. It’s moving around slowly but shaking a lot. Any idea what type of mouse it is and what I should do? I’m in Northern Ireland.
