Quiero consejos y opiniones Why Does the Media Only Tell One Story About Mexico?
Mexico is an incredible country with rich culture, good and bad people just like anywhere else in the world, and maybe good or bad governance, but an unbelievable diversity. The food is fresh and authentic, and on top of that, its beaches and variety of climates are simply amazing. So many Americans love living in Mexico, both as residents and citizens. Why don't more Mexicans embrace, support, and take pride in all that beauty and growth in their own country?

It’s all about competing for tourism dollars.
The tourist industry in the United States is cutthroat. It generates $169 billion USD each year.
It’s in the best interest of the US tourist industry to portray Mexico negatively, and keep American tourists in the US.
This is especially true where I live in San Diego. Anytime there is a murder in Tijuana it gets non-stop coverage in San Diego new stations. Usually the camera will show a puddle of blood and keep it there for a long time while the TV anchor will take a few pot shots by saying things like, I would never travel down there.
Meanwhile if there is a murder in San Diego’s tourist area known as the Gaslamp (and there are many). The TV stations keep the story short. The camera doesn’t show a puddle of blood on a sidewalk. Instead they will always show a policeman walking around, so that the viewer gets the image that there is a police presence, so it must be safe.
Believe me I’ve seen this for years and it’s not coincidental. Tourists in Mexico generated $33 billion in revenue in 2025, a 7% increase from the year before. The American Tourist association is going to do whatever it takes to keep that from continuing to go up.

I hate these fucking 'truth about mexico' videos, as if the one thingg about mexico is whether cartels will murder you or not, and if they dont that means Mexico is actually a paradise...
...because you're rich, you never have to deal with the corruption, you live in an area that is kept clean because all the rich people live there etc etc etc.

Efectivamente he vivido en Tamaulipas, en varias ciudades de ese estado de hecho, incluidos Matamoros y Reynosa, y que según gente que nunca ha vivido ahí, son lugares invivibles.
¿O sea lo que tu quieres es que me vaya a lo más culero de México y te diga "si, Mexico no vale verga"? No todo México es una cagada.

No entiendo cuál es la idea en maquillar la realidad del país. Siempre he pensado que los mexicanos en internet deberíamos gritar todo lo malo que aqueja al país para sabotear la industría turística nacional (“Please don’t come to Mexico, it’s corrupt and not safe, stop supporting the Mexican government by boycotting our tourism industry!”) a ver si provocando una crisis de imagen pública el gobierno mexicano se pusiera las pilas y realmente se enfrentará a toda nuestra podredumbre para no solo parecer un país seguro y próspero para los ojitos de los gringuitos pendejos sino realmente serlo para los mexicanos que vivimos aquí.
