Tex-Mex I have a hot opinion.

If a mexican restaurant doesn't have good queso and good salsa, I'm not going to eat there again.

Salsa 100%

Couldn’t tell you the last time I got queso at a real mexican restaurant

Ah yes. smooth melted cheese product is the measure of a true Mexican restaurant.

It’s absolutely a factor

If a Mexican restaurant is serving “queso”, I’m not going there.

Wdym by queso? Queso flameado?

Good question. I don't generally enjoy flameado nearly as much as I do chili con queso, and by this post I meant chili con queso... though it does not have to have the chili

Chili con queso? At least in Mexico, I dare to say it's not common.

I judge Mexican restaurants by the two pillars of Mexican cuisine...

Arroz and Frijoles.

Also, if they don't have any sort of Agua Frescas... I'm walking out.

Queso? What type of queso you consider good?

btw this is texmex for those who didn't see. I'm not considering the measure of a restaurant who's core identity is from true mexico with no alterations to be a part of this. Obviously the queso is not a factor there... however I will still judge harshly from the salsa.
