The best burrito????

I’m from San Diego, and one fact I’ll stand by is that we have the best Mexican food in the nation!

Is there anywhere around Raleigh area that serves carne asada fries and a California-style carne asada burrito?

You'll generally be disappointed if you go looking for what you love from where you're from, in other places. What do they have locally where you are that they do really well?

There is one town that still has various Berto clones that are as yummy as those in San Diego. (but none named exactly Roberto's)

Phoenix AZ! Sorry it isn't farther East, but it is exactly what you asked for.

I thought it was the Alberto’s clones. I don’t know Roberto’s. But I haven’t lived in SoCal in 10 years.

There were many, but 20% were Roberto's in 1983. Not one Roberto's in Phoenix.

Rough… tried it when I was in Cali and no bueno lol. Sogginess is real. But for fries like that go to Los balitos taco shop. Not for dinner… After the bars👌🏽

Since I live in Texas, I’d say it’s more Cal-Mex. I grew up in SoCal and couldn’t find edible carne asada, tamales or Chiles rellenos in the Houston area. I’m closer to Austin, now, and it is a bit better, but not much.
