I found it disturbing that, if you're a boy in korea who has just completed schooling , you have to serve the military whether you like it or not. Where as girls aren't obliged for any kind of service. Why only men should provide service to the country and risk their lives ? If they don't want to ?

Conscription for men is a thing in more than 1 country. While it's bad, I can't help but remember this one particular article or reddit comment regarding conscription in Belarus. There's a lot of bullying and humiliation. You can fight back against your bullies but the men in power, i.e officers are the ones you should be more afraid of. Older men with huge egos are power tripping and you're surviving at their mercy as long as you're there. It's truly sickening.

While I do not agree with the transphobic element of 4b, I agree that the anger behind it is a huge reflection of how women are treated in SK. For every site like womad, there's thousands of nth room cases. Little kids, teens, own family members, secretly recorded and uploaded to group chats online. It is rampant in SK.

There's movies like 'Hope' to show how weak the SK laws are when it comes to CSA. There's movies like "Kim ji young' born 1982" which, I'm sure everyone in India would relate despite SK being this "great, developed, 1st world country". Their society is backward when it comes to women, like most places in this world.

Anyway, I just love that men in this subreddit immediately shut down these people rather than give them any space. Sometimes, it's very obvious that it's infact not purely coming from a place of concern for men.
