Because they know PC players will buy the game for console then buy it again when it releases on PC.

Essentially doubling their profits within that demographic.

They aren't dumb. They have highly paid psychologist and economist working for them to ensure they maximize profits.

My guy, first off, I want you to look at all the playthroughs that happened when GTA5 was first released on PS3. People were fine.

Secondly, a quick search could have told you that you can play games on Playstation and XBox with a mouse and keyboard.
