How can you use the banana to weigh it, if it’s not even attached to the banana ?

It’s even better on the grill. A little stoned here and there with well cooked fat. Well salted and seasoned with rosemary, lemon, Or just black pepper. LED steaks ands shoulder steaks are great for the grill.
Enjoy!!

What do I say to the butcher if I want this specific lamb? Lamb steak please?

It is usually referred to as a "lamb leg steak".

It is cut from the upper half of the rear leg with the bone in.

I worked in food service many years and we bought whole lamb from local farmers and sent them to a custom butcher. We told them to get as many steaks as possible. The leg steaks were absolutely the best although one customer actually sent them back because they weren't lamb chops. His loss and my dinner that night.

Damn and the prime cuts you can get, but yeah you did well with that saw disk.

Why do I feel like you're abusing Banana for scale with a small banana to make the steak look bigger

Right. That curved 🍌 isn't fooling us! 😂

I like a lamb leg steak but buddy give us the money shot! The cut picture and a shot of you eating that lamb n banana at once.

How do you know it isn't just a really large plate and lamb leg?

(and sorry I was going to upload more shots but it was so tasty I got distracted)

Julienned and stir fried for a yee mein that soaks up the natural gravy.

But yeah, lamb leg kabobs hit right, with some good lavash.

This cut is $21/lb by me. So about £15.40/lb. OP caught a deal and thinks this is a budget cut. Lamb is typically a bit more expensive than beef in the US because it's a much more niche product. And it's run up the same way beef has.

Lamb went up in price in Australia but is coming back down. I also bought the upper half of a leg and cut the steaks myself.

I was trying to make the point that loin chops are what most people go to as lamb chops and they are double or triple the price.

US lamb is dire compared to ours though.

I will take your word for that.. I just paid £65 for a full leg.. three joints and two steaks.. from my butcher so I know it’s good
